tube in tire?

I was wondering if anyone puts tubes in there tires? my tire seems to develop a leak when i drop the pressure down past 15. has anyone put a tube in their rear tire. Also someone said they saw someone put screws through the lip of there rim into the tire to help hold it in place. is there any truth to that?

first of things theres no need to have your tire at 15psi. i ride my bike all winter long in nh with 28psi with no tire spinning isues.

second you could screw your bead alot of bracket drag racers do it its lighter than beadlocks but keeps the tire from spinning on the wheels(really to get technical the wheel spinning in the tire) and it would prevent breaking of the bead.

Re: tube in tire?

It's either a bent wheel, a hole in the tire, or a dirty or corroded bead. Soap your tire and find where its leaking and go from there.

Re: tube in tire?

ya probably a bend in the lip, that is what i get for being cheap and putting on my own tire with screw drivers and crow bars i guess. i will never try that again, **** took like 2 hours and i was ready to kill someone after i was done. i dont see how you guys say to put in 20 some pound though, when i watch slow stuff at shows the tires look like they are pretty much flat.
