hi i use to stunt but now i lost half of my left leg below knee and i want to know if there are any stunter out there
that have a Prosthesis.. or something in common.
it would be a help if theres pix's,website or anyway i could talk to them.!!!

Ben knows people who are paralyzed who use "skis" but I don't know anyone using a prosthesis. I know there are both single and double amputees riding. Seems if they can ride they could stunt. Ben is "banned 101" he's the best person to talk to IMO about rediscovering riding after a traumatic injury.

 

Rich (stuntposer on here) lost his right leg just above his knee last summer. He just go back on a quad stunting recently... and he has expressed his urge to get back on a streetbike... he might be someone to talk to... hit him up on here.

That's right! I'm so glad to see Rich is up and at it.

 

There was a video on here awhile ago of a guy that does fast wheelies & is completely parilized from the waist down. If you lost half of one of your legs I really see no reason why you can't stunt. If it's your right leg you lost half of, they make handbrakes. I love when people that run into problems like you or something horrible like that that still keep stunting. It's people like you that really give this sport so much heart, & incourage all of us that get hurt to keep doing it.

There was a thread awhile ago about a motorcycle stunter who had an accident on a 3 wheeler the first day he rode it , and messed up his foot so bad that they were considering removing part of his leg .

In that thread , they talked about the same thing . I can't remember dates or names , but maybe you can try a search . I will try to find it when i have more time .

 

I probably haven't seen the guy in a decade+ but there was a local skater that went pro and was a below the knee amputee. His name was John Comer. If that guy could ride the **** out of a skateboard like that than you can stunt for sure!

I had a boss at a race shop I worked at that was a below the knee amputee on his left leg and he raced really successfully in SCCA club racing, won several regional championships.

My post may not help you much if you are looking for help with designing/modifying your prosthesis, but I hope you keep riding.
