Listen to man with picture doing wheelie... or man with picture of him smiling hugging his tank.... hmmmm

Re: Noob Question?

admitting you are a squid is step #1, so you get some amount of credit for that
step #2 is believing in a power greater than yourself, which would be the wheelie guide, it will be your bible for the next month or 2, you can find it in the Help and How-To section > Stunting Help & Advice... which is where this thread should have gone, you n00b

I read that post before anything I did. I just thought I'd pitch in how I started (am starting) because everyone refers to that thread which could use more information about RPM. Now that someone has an opinion on how to do the perfect wheelie, why don't you explain what you do? What am I doing wrong? By all means, help me out too.

Re: Noob Question?

you told how to do a power wheelie, you should never do power wheelies

read the guide again... 10-15mph, 1st gear, staggered, clutch in. gas bounce and clutch at the same time, hit rear brake, repeat. before long you'll have bp.

Re: Noob Question?

if you truely value your life then sell that bike and buy a ping pong table. riding bikes in general is very dangerous, stunting bikes is extremely dangerous and you WILL crash and you WILL get hurt and theres a good chance you will DIE. think about your family and **** before you start doing this stuff. if you have come to terms with all that then pull the clutch and let it fly.
wow, that was poetic. I likey.

Im a noob myself, I still cant stunt my 1000RR... mainly cause i dont practice.... however, I did buy myself a CRF50 and I wheelie it with no problem(see avatar). I can coast 1st or 2nd, and just recently I learned to circle it somewhat.

from my squidish point of view, I say practice practice practice. the dirtbike is more forgiving and I have learned the value of the rear break.

rear brake > life.

Yes... I'm going to be reading that wheelie guide... although it seemed that from reading it, method 1 was what cias was talking about. I'm sure theres a little thing or two here or there that can make ALL the difference.

I am in first as of now. Once I get close to BP (balance point) I will start hitting second. Theres no art to the clutch - yank 'er in slip 'er out (fast).
This is by far the most confusing **** I have ever read... but from what I can figure out sounds like some bad info.

Thats why I'm here man. I want to learn... thats why I came.

I'll be the first to admit that from what I've been reading now, yeah, that was pretty squidly. But at least I can admit it and move on from there and now work on some real ****, yanno?

P.S. I knew I shouldn't have clicked on that link... especially when it froze my browser on that site... god damnit...

Rub some brain cells together. What part? I tried to be thorough, but sometimes that can backfire. It really doesn't matter anyway, it's only learning how to ski. I was just trying to help 'em out with "tricks that weren't wheelies."

Re: Noob Question?

Hey I just saw someone already posted a link to the wheelie thread I just emailed ya. But that thing on the end is better than anyone gave ya on here.

And the golden rule to remember.

There are only two times your allowed to be on your gas tank if your not picking up guys.
1.If your standing on it proud doing a sik christ.
2.If your on your back wheel
^^^ These are the only times!
