Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

I'm toying with the idea of getting a new Raptor 700R. Has anyone rode one here & liked it? Just wanted to know,
How fast they are?
How fast & what gears can you pick up the front?
Just any info would be cool.

Re: Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

LMAO, what is with the raptor?????????????????????????????????
It is a big sport quad! They are good for toying around on but thats it. For as big of a motor they have its not all that quick. Just a 4 wheeler with a big torquey motor.....this quad reminds me exactly of a hayabusa....nothing but motor, to put it in terms. For some reason big motors appeal to alot of people...Ive never figured it out. If your going to race MX get a 450 (raptors have no business being on the track). If you want a sport quad that has the only selling point of 'has the biggest motor in its class' get a raptor.

Re: Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

I have one and love it. It is a great all around quad. More power than you would ever need to get up hills and anything. It will wheelie 1, 2, 3, and 4th with a nice bounce and 5th you have to shift into it. I cracked my subframe from stunting it so i had to make that stronger. And for the guy that said if you want to race get a 450. Alot of people mx the raptor. yfz450 front shocks bolt right up to it or if you get a se model it has front shocks with resivors so it can handle jumps. Ive raced many 450's and the raptor will win by a few lenghts every time. But on a mx track or a harescramble, it will come down to rider. It is only like 40 lbs heavier than a 450. The powerband is more rider friendly. Its powerband is at a lower rpm than the 450 quads so you dont have to have it revved up all the time. I say get the quad you wont be dissapointed. and if you have any more questions feel free to pm me ill get back to you as soon as i can.

Re: Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

1st of all... it's a quad. If you have half a brain you can stunt one and it will come up in almost every gear. I didint like the 700 i rode. I've always had honda's. Never liked how high the raptors sit. I guess it would be sweet for desert racing or something like that. Id say get a 400ex or a 450. Ive always had them and had no problems yet. Plus you can get a nice 400ex for like 2g's anymore.

Re: Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

It just looks so nasty to me. looks like it would be fun as **** to ride. I don't want to race, I just want to rip up some trails really fast.

Re: Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

i have a cannondale 440 fuel injected all done up and it's just not fun in trails... it's to much. It's like riding a 250R in trails. I can only imagine a 700cc fuel injected monster that sits that high. . . might as well get a banchee for 1200 bucks

The 660's were junk with many problems. I've read alot of reviews & they say all the bugs were were worked out & the whole quad was redone! The weight is also more evenly distrubted for better handeling & jumping. They say it's a totally different quad!

Re: Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

two of my buddies bought two of them and rode for about four hours. now they dont run at all. some sort of problem with them that they are not recalling is what the guy at the bike shop said. imo they are crap. the old ones were crap and the new ones are too. dont waste your money.

Only??? 40 pounds is alot..............plus you have that high center of gravity. You can race anything but when it comes down to it a raptor is not made to race MX.....Raptor is a sport quad with a big torquey motor.

as I was saying for as big of a motor they have they are not that fast..............

Raptors look bad *** and I dont think they are bad quads im just tired of people hyping them up and thinking they are they best thing that ever hit the showroom floor. The best all around sport quad to me is a toss up between the 300ex and the 400ex.....either one is un-de-structable.

Re: Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

i have a 06 700r and a 05 yfz 450 love em both, both have diff purposes the 450 is a great all around quad, the 700 is a killer hill quad, nice high balance point too. slightly modded 450 will eat the 700 up especially outta the whole my buddy and i switched back and forth on my bikes same outcome everytime

Re: Who's rode a Raptor 700R?

friend had the 660 he HATED it. he rode for about 2 months and it sat in his barn from then on. he said it was the worst 4-wheeler to ride trails on ever. hes had alot of 4-wheelers

he said the only thing that was good for was just riding wheelies. it has the shittiest wheelbase that a 4-wheeler could have.

if you just want to ride wheelies all the time i guess you should get it. but other than that dont buy something your not gonna like
