Smile Finally Got It Up

Well after reading for a good long while and holding myself back from posting stupid already answered 100 times questions like "how do I wheelie" I finally went out and tried it today.

04 FZ6 Fazer renthal ultra lows K&N Scorp exhausts and up two teeth on rear sprocket.

Treid clutching it up and got it up a lil bit (probs no more than 6 inches I would have thought) a couple of times. Can get it up an inche or so nearly everytime so now just got to work a bit on the amount of throttle I need but give me time.

Dont think anyone cares but had to tell someone. :YEAH

Good job. Good way to start too. Clutchin it. Alot of people start by just throwing on the throttle, then when you start learning new ****, you have to break old habbits. Just keep trying, practice and get the feel for your throttle control, and keep your breaks on the ready. And good on you for reading before posting.

You doing it staggard or sitting? I hear its way easier to learn BP staggard, but when i started i didnt know **** and i learned sitting first. Since i was so used to sitting, i had a hard time shifiting my weight on the staggard at first.

Just keep practicing, youll get it man.

Am sittin, little bit worried about staggerin at the moment but give me a few more tries to get use to the front lifting etc and I think I will give it a go, gonna stick it in the centre stand at the weekend and see how it feels to be staggered.

Not a bad idea, espically if you 100% new to the front tire lifting.

Re: Finally Got It Up

Your learning!:YEAH

Just try practicing bringing up your front tire & setting it down smooth & straight. Clutch up evn if not quite at ballence point & work on setting it down smooth & straight. Keep trying & you will eventually get it!

Right on , just make sure you have a cage a bar doesnt hurt either. After a while you'll just say *** it and just clutch it up to BP or past . good luck

I learned wheelies staggered & I think it helped me in the long run. I have heard people that learn sitdowns that it takes aolt longer to learn standups. I learned staggered & sitdowns are cake.
Staggered looks 10x better, you can see farther, easier to steer when you get alittle better, & you just have more controll. Even if it takes you alittle longer I think staggered will be worth it in the long run.

Re: Finally Got It Up

Learning in second, I can get it up in first (about the same as I can in second) but its just so jerky and twitchy its unreal.

Gonna drop the pressure today see if that helps (standard is 36F 42R I am currently on 32F 38R) so do people think it will help if I drop it to 30F 35R?

Front doesn't matter for wheelies but I drop my rear pressure to 18psi.

Re: Finally Got It Up

Problem is I dont want to put it down to far, will 18 in the rear not make it unridable?

Re: Finally Got It Up

I never went below 30psi untill I started trying to hit idle.. then dropped it down to about 20-25psi.
