i know the 03/04 and the 05+ 6rr's are different. My question is, is the 06 frame the same as the 04?? will it work? I can buy a clean title 06 frame for a good deal :YEAH but just wanna make sure it will work???

 

go to bikebandit.com and check part numbers, u can actually see there if they look the same also

 

97% Positive that the frames are the same.

 

i checked out the bikebandit site, part #'s are diff at the end.
By the pics they look the same but, the 06 frame looks like it has a few more mounting holes. which wouldnt be a big deal as long as it isnt missing any lol.

I guess worst case if it doesnt work i'll have a 06 clean frame to offer someone on here.

 

I believe they are the same (frame), however the subframes are different.

 

A guy on 600rr.net has swap motors (and I think frames as well) from 03's to 05's. Hope that helps. His name is pete and screen name is like pete929 or something like that.

frames are different but both are interchangable. I think on the 03-04 there is a tab on the bottom of the frame that the 05-06 doesnt have.

Everything is interchangable except if you want to put 05-06 front cowl on 03-04 you have to change fairing stay, ram air tubes etc.. Same with the subframe.

mid fairings, etc etc are straight swap

alright i think i got it down now lol, so if i get the 06 frame and use it on my 04 will I need to use the 06 sub??? or will my 04 sub and fairing stays work on the 06 frame?? hopefully they work since those parts are still good on my 04

 

 

You need front cowl, windscreen, and ram air tubes thats it for the front. Fairing Stay are the same, headlights etc are the same.

You need Subframe and tail also if you go that route.

 

how bout u just give me the frame and ill figure out a way to swap it on my 04

Just to verify the 04 subframe wont bolt onto the 06 frame? i dont want to change the body other than what parts i have to, i need to replace the frame front wheel and rad

 

ive never tried, i know to use the tail from 05-06 you have to have the same subframe so on and so forth with the 03-04...

but i dont see why you couldnt use a 06 frame and 04 subframe with all 04 stuff on the subframe.

It should work in theory so go do it and let me know lol
