ok well personaly my .02 cent. its 2 different types of tires. for burnouts id use like a dunlop 207 or any hard compound tire. for stunting i use soft compound tires like 208 gp or any race tire for front or rear wheel riding so they hook.
and free tires are always the ****!

I have a friend that works at a tire store. Doesn't sell motorcycle tires but changes them for us. We stop in and look at his pile of old tires out back. Great for doing burn outs. The dont last long, but I am not buying a 100 dollar plus tire to pop in one days time. They serve there purpose.

Like my friend. He keeps two sets of rims, and just changes the back wheel when he pops his burn out tire.

haha, Freakin tires. I just took my bike in the other day to get the chain tension set. (I've had it about a month and the salesman said I should bring it back by and have it tightened)

Anyway, he said my rear tire is almost gone. I'm at 2k miles and he said I might get another 1k miles out of it. I haven't been doing burnouts or anything...just wheelies and a few endos. Is he full of **** or is that about the max life of a rear tire? 3k miles....

Sounds about right to me. I usually went around three thou. I did tires more often than oil.

Of course I used race scuffs alot, usualy just on the front.

Free used tires

used tires are the best especially when they are free, because they are already broke in.

It all depends on how low you want to let your tire tread to get... I rode on the tire I had last year till the wires were showing!

But I have a hard time finding tires for my bike due to the odd rear tire size... 150/18... so I try not to do too many burn outs on my tires as is till the wear bars start to show and ionce I have a new tire on order or on hand the old one is burt!

the softer the compound the lower the milage... the harder the compound the higher the milage... most tires will be able to give you 2500-8000 miles MAX... plus if you dont ride on the ***** patch as much you will extent the life of your tires. so get out there and scrub off those chicken strips!

Cycle Gear after hours dumpster special! anything with any tread showing is perfect! get a few miles out of it during the week and burn it up on the weekend. We've got piles of tires at a few of our houses. Just swap em out once they're done. I doubt cycle gear cares cause when we take the tires, we're just saving them the disposal fees.

We used to do that here until the scumbag owner of the dealership found out and started cutting the beads before he put them out.
