CRF150R for a supermoto stuntbike

been thinkin about gettin/makin a supermoto stunt bike to play on and i was thinkin about the new crf150r, its supposed to be a pretty hot runner and isn't near as much to motard out as a 250/450, what do you guys think should i do it?... here's about how it would look

Re: CRF150R for a supermoto stuntbike

i thought abut the 250 but they're too damn expensive to motard out, and i'm not a half asser so im out the whole street tires on stock wheels idea.... and i can get the 150 NEW for 3200 through a hookup... i cant find an 06+ 250 for less than 4500 that hasn't been beat to death for a whole race season

Re: CRF150R for a supermoto stuntbike

there really isn't any advantage to motard as apposed to street tires on stock rims with the 150

ya ok..

Who cares how it looks? Personally I put street tires on for a better ride, not to look cool
Sure I guess I coulda spent a few hundred or thousand on 17" rims, or I could slap a 130 on the rear for free, and a street tire up front for $30

But uh ya fromt what i'v heard 150r's are JUNK for anything but racing..

Honda alone recommends a top end rebuild every 20-30 hours..
And i'v been reading on many forums, people burning up their valves in 10-15 hours...

I'v also heard they run like crap below 5k rpm, and need to be in the power band to do anything..

Basically i'v heard they are junk bikes to just 'ride' and 'stunt'

but extremely fast for their size, and on par with a 450r power to weight ratio.

Well if you get a 250 you could be like me and buy CBR 600 f2 wheels and fab them up so they fit. All you need is spacers and caliper brackets. 520 sprocket and maybe a new chain.

Re: CRF150R for a supermoto stuntbike

That Kawi is a good deal.

As for the 150R - sick dirtbike, prolly a fast mini-supermoto, not the best for stunting IMO.

Re: CRF150R for a supermoto stuntbike

Yeah but very expensive overall because they just came out. You could get a nice 250/450 for the same price.

Wow, for that ^^^ price, I'ld get it. Screamin deal if it really has only been ridden a few hours. Even if you do think it is too much, buy it and resell it. You'll probably make a G.
