ok my partner has a 2006 F4I & yes the one with the bananna seat
i dont know what honda was thinking can we use a o2 03 04 subframe and tail and switch it up to get the look like the 02 03 04 f4i's ?

 

If I remember correctly, you would need the subframe, seats, rear plastic, undertray (battery tray), and rear pegs from an 01-03 to do the swap.

I slapped an 03 tail section on my 06 f4i. The pegs were different. But i kept the same factory undertail and just trimmed it with a grinder.

 

off topic but anyone know if anything else was different between the bike besides the seat, like engine being de-tuned or anything???????

 

u gotta cram some of the wires under the seat cause some of the stuff that mounts on the outside the subframe under the plastic dont have spots to mount on the 01-03. rectifier is the only thing that mounts up. cram the rest.

no "detuning" of the bike will happen

 

I've heard that motor was detuned and can be brought back to the 01-03 specs with a new wire harness and ecu but this is not confirmed. A Honda mechanic told me that but they usually don't know ****.
