2006 R6 Idle/set up

I bought a 2006 R6 for my "out in town bike," and i have a 1999 R-1 that i do some stunts at. Im not a hardcore stunter by anymeans, but the 2006 R6 has the fly by wire on it. All the places i have talked to says you CANT turn the Idle up on the FBW , but i saw some kid in temecula on a silver 2007 R6 doing a no handed damn near 12 oclock (no bar) in temecula, off of rancho california. He HAD to of had the idle set up. So if anyone knows who that kid is, or how to turn up the idle, PLEASE let me know, because i'm debating getting rid of the R1 and stunting up the R6 ... i already re inforced the subframe on it.

thanks

Re: 2006 R6 Idle/set up

the idle can be turned up, it looks almost exactly like a idle screw on a car.

I have pics of it, just for this situation... but, I am not at home, and I don't have the pic in my photobucket account.:BANGHEAD

Re: 2006 R6 Idle/set up

Could you PM or email it to me that to me when you get home? Im at work and the USMC cpus wont let us check a lot of stuff. Cause i havn't really messed with it or looked at it, because i was told there was none. So i didnt even bother. Lol. Mines the 2006 R6 too. Not the R6s. I cant really see the front end or exaust in your pic so im not sure which your on. -WAY OFF SUBJECT-- I'm glad they put a dip stick on it though, i put a little to much oil on my first bike and the whole system overpressure and poped tubes. lol.

Re: 2006 R6 Idle/set up

R6's always rock dipsticks, yamahas in general actually.

my avatar is my 05, but I also have a 06.

the R6s has a idle cable just like all other bikes, but the R6V has a idle screw by the throttle bodies like cars....

Re: 2006 R6 Idle/set up

Yea, i figured there HAD to be a way on the 06R6, but the shops told me "Ah no, since the chip goes to the butterfly valves, theres no idle, its all cpued and adjusts automatically" I didnt want to mess with anything since i just got it, but im getting to the point where i'm stand ups, endos, and im getting bored and really wanting to do slow stuff.

Re: 2006 R6 Idle/set up

What parts have you put on your 06 R6? I'm in the market for a good decent ferring stay, stronger than stock of course, but i dont want to break the bank on it. I made a cage for my R1, so i might have my pop in law help me make one...

Yes the idle will be raised if you screw that one in, but it is ******* up with the flyby-throttle-****... So If you raise the idle that way, it wont happend anything when you turn on your throttle (we tried it today).

Re: 2006 R6 Idle/set up

bullo told the 600rr it better raise the idle, and he jumped at it, like "gangster" kidz do in elementary.

the idle raised to 3500, true story.... i seen it myself.

no modifications' just gangsterness.

Re: 2006 R6 Idle/set up

you need to disconnect the speedometer and mount a extra idle screw just like on the f4i, for the idle to work properly, atleast that was the case on the -07 600rr... TRY IT
