PROBABLY A DUMB QUESTION... Can the powers reinforced pegs work in conjunction with the scrapeworks subframes?

Why would you need that? I mean an aftermarket subframe should be strong enough on its own...The one Im working on is made of solid 6061 aluminum and it wont need any ties or bracing, and pretty much looks stock...

Right now Im clamping it up, getting it ready for welding...Basically what I did was dissasemble a subframe and have the hollow tube sections made out of solid billet. Then Im re-using all the other parts and welding them back onto my new sections, that way is will mount and look stock but never bend or tweak...

Gonna test it out and see how much abuse the frame will take with a sub as solid as this, because if anything I'll rip the tabs off the frame before this sub even moves...

That looks like it would actually break the subframe... maybe almost too strong?

I know it sounds strange........but you shoulda made your sub out of square tubing again, just with thicker walls. Solid rod, be it square or round, bends easier than tubing. I just found this out myself, after talking to my welder. Sure enough, put a few pieces in the vise to test it out........he's right. I'm sure your **** will still be sturdy, just food for thought for next time.

Look at the ends of it... if I'm not mistaken that's a solid piece, not hollow.

Re: whos got reinforced rear pegs

I'm actually in the process of making my own sub cage and reinforcement. I'ld buy one from Matt, but he doesn't make one for my bike. I took the stock pass. brackets and had all the cavities in the back-side filled in. Had both tabs that hold the peg on doubled in thickness. we're making a "hoop" bar to connect both pass. brackets out of 1" square alum. tubing, and making the bar that goes down to the rear-sets out of 1" by 1/4" alum. flat bar. Should be pretty strong. After snapping a peg, I want everything sturdy as ****. My 230 pound *** needs it!

Re-read my post..........I told him tubing was STRONGER than rod(solid).

Yeah me and my machinest were disscussin that the other day, about handle bars Im having him make for me. A solid 7/8 rod will bend easier then 7/8 thick wall tube would..But my sub parts were water jet cut from slabs, probably snap my frame in half before even tweaking 1 of those..
