which db bars are the best?

me and a few other people have been looking into getting some for this spring. i did a search and found alot of info on how to mount them but not alot about which ones were working out best for people. there are a million different kinds of bars out there. what ones are you guys running on your 636's?

i think the height is more of a personal comfort level. try riding someones bike with a certain bar mounted already and see how you like it.

renthal and pro taper are two different brands...no biggie though. My boy has renthal "mcgrath bend" and I think they are pretty comfy...but if you want something with more rise maybe look at the fat bar from renthal...just my opinion.

I've gone through three different bends myself. You'll kinda just get used to what your working with. My advice though, would be to stay away from really wide bars.

I'm waiting on a setup for DB bars from Full Throttle, correct me if I'm wrong but I think Bill said the bars that come with the kit are made at Full throttle. Are there any big differences between his bars and other bars?

Re: which db bars are the best?

i just bought a set of protaper bars for my 954. the only way to find out what bars would work for you is to take the bike to a local bike shop and put them on the bike to semulate your riding stance.

I know what ya mean...it is hard to tell what they feel like without haveing them bolted up...I dont have db bars yet but like I said I liked the way my buddy has his set up on his r1 so I think I'll prolly go with the mcgrath bend myself.

Re: which db bars are the best?

i just switched to DB from clip ons a couple weeks ago and i have already gone through two sets. I run 7/8th bars b/c they are cheaper. I used protaper mids first, then protaper lows, and now i am running Tag's but i dont what bend they are i just know they are the only ones i will use from now on!! they feel so sweet. I raced motocross for 8 yrs and i thought i would like the bars swept high and pushed forward on my street bike like i used to run them in motoX but that was not the case. i feel much more comfortable with low bend and rolled back bars on the CBR. just try some different ones each time you bend them and you will find the ones that feel best. $0.02
