Re: 900rr coughing in wheelie
I used to have a honda 3 wheeler that would do that. took the carberator out, soaked it in gasoline over night and cleaned it out. put it back in, ran like a champ

let me ask you this...what kind of air filter do you have?is it jetted?and inside the tank on the petcock there is a filter.there is a o-ring that sits in the middle of that filter dividing the the on and reserve settings.is it in place?also check the plugs.how do they look?sometimes because the bike is up in the air so much the cylinders load and foul the plugs.let me know if you still have a problem

Re: 900rr coughing in wheelie
i had the same type of problem with mine and it turned out that it was a number of things.one that o-ring turned on me and two they put a k&n without jetting it.the bike would fall on its face and then kick a second later.i put a stock filter in it and the problem was solved.the only other time i had a problem was when i would ride idle and it would feel like it was running out of gas with a full tank.that was the o-ring.put that back in it's place and the bike runs like a champ.just sinc the carbs every 2 months and you wont have a problem.or just listen to Roger and buy FI

Re: 900rr coughing in wheelie
well if your #3 cylinder has a weak piston return spring its going to cause spikes in the power... these springs have a rare failure rate but i highly suggest having them tested, it only runs about 200-300$ and they cost about $100 to replace. if one does completely fail your going to ruin your top end, the piston rod will throw the piston into your valves etc and it will cost you 10x more...

Re: 900rr coughing in wheelie
i'm a certified bike mechanic and i have no clue on what spring your talking about.the 900rr doesn't have rockerarms so there is no springs in the head outside of valve springs.maybe your thinking about something but calling it something else.explain what your talking about.nice job on the kawi by the way.polishings a bitch, check my myspace for my custom zx9
sorry man but ur bikes carb'd, thats the problem haha.. n/m the piston return springs !
Re: 900rr coughing in wheelie
oh any yeah about the polishing thing, prepping it for polish is easy... making it shine sucks! ima stick to chrome powder coating or anodizing etc.. never again polishing a damn thing !
