Re: Oil Pickup

and also remember when you put in another pickup i dunno about the 00 but my 05 has like a balloon look in the middle of the pickup (wish i had a pic but dont) so the after market pickup is alot smaller without that balloon so you will have to run more oil to compensate for less room taken up in the pan??? does that make sense like not run it over the full line but you will have to add more oil to get it to the full line????????????????MAKE SENSE i think i confused myself

Re: Oil Pickup

You make sense the pickup being thinner will displace less oil so in oreder to put it to the proper level in the site glass may take some more oil.

Re: Oil Pickup

Ok now I am really starting to wonder I just started looking at the schematics myself and it almost looks like the way that my 2000 oil pickup connects to the pump is the same as a 2001 and up. It looks the same to me except for the fact that mine is three pieces and the newer one is a one piece unit. Now that I look at it it is very obvious that the dealership would tell me they dont match but if they bolt up the same I could use a Stuntex pickup. So can anyone confirm they bolt up the same.

Re: Oil Pickup

no demand for them. so no reason to build them. just compare the mounting holes and see if they are the same... if so just use the stuntex... or cut your pick up tube off short in the back of the motor.

Re: Oil Pickup

I am trtying to figure out a way that I could hold the both of them in my hand to compare them but I am falling short on ideas by the looks of the schematics the bolt pattern may be the same. I just emailed the main email at stuntex asking him if he knew if the bolt pattern was the same
