Fair price for my f4i?
Fair price for my f4i?
2001 Honda F4I, Silver in color, dropped in driveway by neighbor after sitting for the fall, he couldnt get it started( batterys dead and didnt want to deal with it, and neither do I, May need a little more but bike was running all summer) Mileage must be under 10,000 i have to check. Frame, swingarm, fork, wheels are all straight. the bike was never dumped at speed, the kid was a squid. it was never slammed on. has a jardine high mount exhaust and a fender eliminator. I dont currently have a title for it but he may find it, numbers are clean and i have the bikes last registration and a bill of sale from me and the last owner. The upper is cracked and the left right fairing has light scratches. Everything else is there and is in very good shape.
i was thinking around 3500? hows that sound? i just need some dough for rent and i like my 636's, i havent even rid it? what do u guys think? worth keeping?

Re: Fair price for my f4i?
over here, if the bike is in a smash then the insurance see's if its a write off (not road worthy). but you can buy it back after if you win the insurance clam and fix it up and get a MOT (road worthy test) and its good to go.
also, you can sell it on without telling the buyer what happend to it.
Re: Fair price for my f4i?
in the us you need a title to register a vehicle and to show proof of ownership...
salvage titltes are ok if you want to just ride it in lots and if it gets impounded by the police you can at least show proof of ownership to get it out of impound but it is a real pain in the *** to register a salvage title

Re: Fair price for my f4i?
we have a log book, that shows who is the keeper of the bike.
we pay road tax to use the roads and insurance to ride on the roads.
we pay about 95p a little off gas, thats about $0.70-$0.80 a little i think, maybe more
you get it easy over there

It's worth 3500 but only with a title.. Re: Fair price for my f4i?
2 grand with no title. 2500 if it is mint with no title. you have no idea where it came from or if anyone has a lien on the title.. you might do a title search and find out that somebody stopped making payments on it and the bank has a lien on it for 5 grand.. or worse its stolen....
Re: Fair price for my f4i?
salvage title a bike that was reported salvage but not titled as such yet, you get a vin check with chp and brake/light check with a dealership(the preceeding was to california laws). (this is california as well)no title, if its really the neighbors bike i think it's $16 for a replacement title. howver, u can get a bill of sale for it, but make sure the bikes in his name first or u'll be in some shat trying to register a hot bike. but u take the bill of sale, pay for the registration n title transfer as well as for a new title. if its the salvage case as described previously then you get a temp operating permit to get the inspection done n turn in before they send the new title

worth keeping if u got it for a good deal, but if you dont need it, change the battery $50- at kragen. if he's ur neighbor then get a new bill of sale n have the owner fill it out n leave the buyer blank for the guy who buys it. u have registration u'd call the vins anyways but in ur case if u know they guy you just need to call n see if the bike is free for sale without lean or tickets. if it's clean enough aside from the damage listed list it at $4-4.5k depending on the economy of the market in your area. but i'd say $4k at least
Re: Fair price for my f4i?
Hey guys,i already bought it off my neighbor. its not a shady deal, but i should have a title soon, i know its paid off, he is a good friend of mine. the bike runs fine i just need to throw a battery in it.. i guess i should probobly get atleast 2500 with no title, does the classified section work well? it is pretty minty too, the guy just road it for looks with his girl. just lemme know if anyone has any more info, i will do a carfax on it too so i can show the buyer whats going on, seems like its worth the money?
thanks guys
