screws, plates, whatever you want. Forget the biker boys crap, plates don't go on that easy. The best way I've seen to do them yet is with clasping buckles, the kind that have pushbuttons on either side to release. The safest, and most assured not to come loose way I've seen is old style buckles with holes, and a pin going through them. Must strap down at not less than two points on your feet.

Screws, well, I don't personally like the idea of running around screwing screws into the bottom of my shoes, I mean I do way too much damage to them for me to try and inflict torture on them, but if this is what you want, go for it. Measure the sole of your shoe on the outside. (easiest way to do this, most shoes, is to measure the thickness of the rubber at the back of the shoe, on the outside. This will give you a small buffer if your measuring is off, or your weight compressed them.) Select some screws that are SHORTER than that, and screw 'em into your shoes. Don't expect those to last too long, since as soon as the head wears off, you'll be shooting a little bity fine spray of sparks.

Titanium works best for emitted brillant white sparks. We have titanium plates bolted to our 12 o'clock bars. The major draw back to titanium is..........hella expensive. A piece 12 inches long by 6 inches wide by .5 inch thick is approximately $250.00. Maybe you can find someone that already has it and would be willing part with it for much less. To make plates for your shoes is a problem we have not tackled yet. JOJO from LVX has ti plates for here boots as does Gary Rothwell. Maybe you could email them and see how they did it. Here are their links:

Let me know if this helps.

When we were shooting the East Coast Extremes video I borrowed my friends mountain bike shoes- They had steel plates on the bottom that would clip into the pedals. It looked great at night. I doubt they work for the mountain bike any more- oops.

try taking a pair of sparking knee pucks and duct taping them to the bottom of your shoes.

This looks like a good idea but will this actually work well and stay on my shoes?
