I live in Vt and was wonderign if its illegal to ride without a speedo??? anyone know.

call the non emergency police line and they will tell you
make sure you find out what statute/law it is too and check it online
so they aren't dicking you

Then why do I see custom choppers without speedos all day long. I've wondered this myself. I'm streetfightered with no speedo. I'll just play dumb when I get pulled.

Same reason you see stuntbikes without speedos all the time. Those guys have many more equipment violations than we do, cops just dont bother them cuz they're slow.

I've used a bicycle speedo before. they're easy to install and it's only about the size of a listerine strips case. They're only acurate up to like 40 mph but at least you can get inspected.

It's not legal. You should put your speedo back on this instant, not so much to be legal, but more so you know when you shift in to nuetral. That's the key to being an excellent stunt rider.

Where in Vermont are you riding that you care?!?!

Unless you're in Burlington, Colchester or Essex cops are NOT gonna be looking at you! You can get it inspected with a $20 bike computer but I rode streets in VT for a long time without paperwork.
