SSB doesnt like stunts!?
Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
yeah kane, we do get the point, and like everyother thread, were changing it to conform with our needs, check a few posts ago, the one that says like thrasher, transworld, and others, ssb is selling out to conform to an older audiance that will subscribe easier.

I'm not quoting anyone but if you refer to the post that started this thread off, the second line..... If it wasn't a point, why is it there?
And, is it "your killing us"? Just wondering... I don't personally own any killing.

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
Can anybody out there truly tell me they enjoy gay mags like "Sport Rider", "Cycle World" or "Motorcyclist"?
Keep it real-combine the 2--ratty bikes+clean bikes. I love them both equally.
I find myself re-reading the OLD SSB mags with all the beat up bikes.

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
and why is it that everyone always "completely misses the point" of Kanes threads?? Maybe because he comes across as a straight di(khead, and dances around the topic he post. Making statements like " east coast... you're killing us" but it's not an east coast, west coast thing.

No, if he had said "You're killing us", it would make sense.

I remember when stunter's didn't give a fu ck.Now it's about how pretty yer bike is and what ya look like how many sponsors and what mag. ya can get into.I can give a fu ck bout that my heart is into ta riding and my skill's not the rest.If a mag doesn't want ta cover this hardcore industry that were in cause were on a dirty bike doing h/c circle's then cover the chromed out busa. Will stay togeither

"How come ive been to the bay 4 times and all ive seen is tha pole"
Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
If the magazine stops showing us love, we stop buying the magazine. Its as simple as that.
I dont want to see pretty bikes anyway, even if theyre stunting. I can see pretty bikes at the dealership, theyre useless anyway. I want to see real stunters on real stunt bikes doing real stunts.

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
Stunters don't spend money and aren't a huge buying factor in the MC world. We had a mag once dedicated to stunt riders that ended up in the gutter because there wasn't enough support for it, anyone remember asphalt?

Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
I could give a fuck less personally!! Sure it's nice to have a pic in a magazine here and there. I was making vids and promoting myself way before there was any stunt mags. I dont need any sponsors, magazine's, comps or shows to make a living or even motivate me to keep riding. Yes the bikes are grimy sometimes, that is our sport so show it!!!! The best riders in the world ride streetfighter. The only reason SSB or Kane are *****ing is cuz the general glamma public won't buy the mag unless they see some eye candy, we'll people who truly know our sport will see the eye candy beyond the nice paint jobs and full fairings. Sure I like to have a nice bike who doesn't? I can afford it so I buy some sick **** to put on the bike because I can and I like moddin ****. If they start cuttin out people because thier bikes are grimy then I say we need a mag dedicated to the sport as we see it not the corporate companies who want to see a pink bike and a backstreet boy riding it. That is soo far away from our original OG image, if that's what it's gonna take to make this sport mainstream you can count me out.
Re: SSB doesnt like stunts!?
Having held a few comps and having several friends that are stunters on both sides of the fence, meaning those that do it for fun and those that want to make it a profession, I can see all the points that are being made.
If you are looking to make stunting you career, yes, your equipment and gear should be tight. That's just common sense.
If you do it just for fun and your love for riding, then it's your choice what you wear and how your bike looks.
If anyone here is as old as I am and remembers seeing Gary Rothwell ripping it up at AMA & Formula USA events, his bikes and his gear were always looking good. Point is, that's his profession and that professionalism got him noticed.
I know there are several of you that want to see the sport go mainstream. I've heard you say on videos, TV, in mags, on this website, and you've told me personally. If want potential sponsors (and I'm not talking the local bike shop giving you 10% off parts) to talk to you and you want to get noticed not only does your skills need to be tight, the image you project has to be as well.
