didnt read the whole thread...just the first post and skipped to this part....Kane brings good points to the ppl that want this "sport" to go mainstream and go somwhere....for those of us that are in it for fun though having my bike look nice is def not high on the list...i mean if i had a shitload of sponsors throwing me free stuff and offering paintjobs, plastic, etc...then yeah id be a dumb *** not to have a nice looking bike...but i got bills to pay and dont make tons of cash so unless someones gonna write me a check to pretty up my stunt piece its gonna look the best it can with whatever ratty plastics i have around to throw on it......takes enough $$ to keepem running...after all this is an expensive sport/hobby just to get involved in period.....

lets hope that SSB keeps more stunt coverage than twt with the editor change, although i know twt got a lot of pressure from advertising companies to not have stunt footage.

dave's been around a while, seems like a good opportunity for him and us, although i will miss frankie boy as our point man!!

thats not even covering the ads featuring, britton, colbert, burnell bros, Troy Hoff, Dmann, even ****head darius got one alpinestar ad in this year...

Joe rocket owns the back cover of 2wt for two years that a big ad campaign and they are pro stunts!!

so to say that their advertising companies are pressuring them to not include stunting is BS IMO

just what i've heard as a fly on the wall, not saying i necessarily believe it to be true.

but for some reason there is very, very little coverage of our industry in TWT...although Big Dave or whoever hooked me up with a dope full page pic from starboyz a couple issues ago!

i just hope SSB doesn't become TWT, right now it's our only real source of national media attention and i know there are plenty of us relying on that publicity in a sense

I think at this time it doesnt matter if we get that consistent monthly 'national coverage' through SSB anymore or not.. i mean.. we've had our chance.. its been 3 years of SSB covering stunting EVERY issue regardless of content control.. well.. if after these 3 years a rider hasnt done their job to get themselves involved in the right circles beyond the print of a magazine.. well.. i hate to say it but to bad. not saying its impossible to breach, but i think its about damn time the sport picked its 10 or 20 and rolled with it... FMX did so a LONG time ago...

what use is it to continue to cover the same story over and over... I mean dont take me wrong we have by NO MEANS outgrown SSB. but i think SSB is like a parent and after awhile the child needs to **** it up and make it on their own.. we cant ONLY rely on ONE magazine and pretend its a sport... haha... there are a million other avenues that stunting has just begun to tap into... we should continue focusing on that... Superbikes is a step in the right direction... TV is where its at!!

I got more viewers in ONE episode of stunt junkies than 2WT SSB and Motorcyclist sell copies ALL YEAR...
and im still small potatoes in the grand scheme.. there are a million other opportunities for us all if we keep focused...




I know this post isnt gonna make me any new friends.. but.. i think at this point the 10-20 know who they are and its way beyond "making new friends" to them...

its do or die time teacha! '07 is the year make it or break it.. I know that by '08 if Im not seeing a continued increase.. im out..
