636 tank denting
Re: 636 tank denting
I did a spare tank not to long ago that looked sick but forgot to put the gas cap on before i dented it
The last one I used a dead blow and I hit that with a mallet

Start at the back of the cap, make a kidney shape (or a D where the flat line faces up)
work the dent around slowly, taking it wider and wider with each pass...
take your time, 636 tanks actually dent pretty easily and nicely if you take your time.
Keep and eye on the collor inside the tank so that it doesnt smash the bottom of the tank too much... i like to get the collor to TOUCH the bottom and that's it...
good luck

you can straighted that mount out, but jumpin to spreader and putting them down and stuff (even if you are easy on it) is going to bend it anyways... its one of the things i have just gotten used to on my 636's
