F4 to F4i Motor Conversion

Ok im tired of reading this and that saying its possible and others saying its not.
Im gonna ask the the people who are masters of taking sh$% apart and putting it back together to work.

what i have is a blown f4i motor not sure how bad it is yet cause i havent opened it up. but i need to know what can be done with an f4 motor as far as maybe bolting my fuel injection up to it.

any feedback would be great.
or if someone has an f4i motor sittin around let me know please.

Re: F4 to F4i Motor Conversion

you will have to put the f4i head on the f4 motor because the f4 head doesnt have a place to for the sencors that are needed to run the fuel injection and I think that the stator is different but you will also need the f4i tank and fuel pump ecu and wireharness and the airbox im pretty sure thats all that your gonna need

Re: F4 to F4i Motor Conversion

motor started making a taping noise. CCT was what i thought normal for the f4i, so i changed it. no dice. took the valve cover off looked to see if i shattered intake side valve spring. didnt see anything there either. so finally i got tired of guessing and everybody telling me its just ticking ride the damn thing when it blows you will know what the problem is. well 6 wheelies later it blew. now it makes no attempt to start (i think valve dropped into motor and is wedged against head.) so that is how it went down.

anyone have any other suggestions

i have someone who has a complete f4 motor minus clutch for 300 bucks.

Re: F4 to F4i Motor Conversion

how do you hydrolock a bike that is in the middle of a 30mph wheelie and shuts off and doesnt restart. thought a bike had to be on its side to hydrolock.

It happens on my R6 if the rpms get up too high in a wheelie it sends oil into the airbox. Oil can get into the airbox either way.
