Re: Contingency Money for Stunters

been my experience that companies use the word contingency to represent "here you do more work, so we can nit pick BS slack off and waste your time before ever even consider paying you the pre-defined set amount we owe you per photo"

AKA

"can you please send me a clear 300dpi photo xerox of both the magaizine cover, particular photo in question, as well as please circle in red or black ink the exact placemet of all logos, even still write in english cap type ms sans serif font an exact american measurement of logo size .. as well as page numer, vol issue...

all in invoice format and within 25 days of publish...

thank you have a nice day.... oh.. and go F yourself

** always read the fine print **

other than that.. good article! lol
gotta vent somewhere if not here.. than John Z's voicemailbox!!!

Not positive (someone else can contact them and ask), but it looks like the SMF program is based solely on placing/finishing order in qualifying events, and has nothing to do at all with getting photos published.

Anyways, you get paid for having photos placed? Cut me in on that sh*t and I'll hook you up! (Just kidding, you ethics-*****...).

Re: Contingency Money for Stunters

How much is a craft helmet? Is it even worth it to go buy one if your competing?

whoa kane... I know things can be tough with this sport.. but somethings need to be kept to yourself, come on now, I wub ya, but if someone saw this... ie: the people that are paying you for your photos... Ouch...

bro... SMFcycles is trying to get stuntriders paid like motocross riders do... I was pretty shocked when i spoke with Chris myself about his initial plans. Even though I'm still not as good as the "professional" riders.. this inspired me to try that much harder... (if only I could get my f4i to run right.. lol ) but I've already added a few tricks on my list just after the conversation... of course they're simple tricks but still.. I tried them! ha

These are the kind of things we need to be motivated to keep at it! Let's not make this a complain about money... let's make this a hey SMFcycles, I hope to see Great turn outs with your ideas cause damn we could use the money! hahaha

Re: Contingency Money for Stunters

I think it is good idea, I have been working with craft for a while and they have done everything they said they would do for us, never any bs ..
I like the helmet, it fits good and is super light weight, And does it hold up? Come on I'm hitting the ground more times then ***** on her back in Amsterdam(that is where i am right now with my craft helmet)

Instead of bashing Kane, you seem to know people at Shoei. This is great way for you to help out (other riders) by showing them what other companies are doing for the sport.

And for those who know, we may clown around alot and play jokes but we are always helping other riders out..........So thanks to SMF Cycles, Craft, and Barracuda Exhaust for stepping up to the plate and helping our sport!
