Re: What happened to stunt riding?

It just blows me away how it dosnt seem to sink in what ive already said very clearly. It was said correct above.Lots are for practice.Streets are for show.Rock the lots all day I dont care.It just sucks watching hrs or the same old footage with small percent of pro's rocking the lots solid and making it look intresting because of the talent.Or regular guys rocking the streets.

it's the same as someone hitting a big jump on a fiddy. you see it, aren't really impressed because it doesn't LOOK hard. but what you don't see are the hours upon hours of practice the person put into it.

and as soon as you seriously give it a shot, and see that where you are now is miles behind it, your attitude towards it changes.

it still might not be much to watch, but the amount of respect given for it is increased.
Your wrong.Just because it may have been hard to do dosnt mean its fun drooling on somone else that does it better.

It dosnt matter what tricks I can do or cant do.Point is if you plan on just promoting stunt videos and comps to other stunt riders based on the fact only the ones that can pull it of will only get enjoyment out of it then this sport is truely doomed.

I dont have to be a skateboarder to know I think watching street is more enjoyable to watch than vert vids.Come on.

If you guys really want to progress the sport then you need a fan base to go to shows and buy dvds that arnt stunt riders.Ive brought a number of friends over to watch dvds and they all but leave the room when watching some dude pulling slow circles. They would rather see action. This is a action sport.

So doing tricks with stoplights, stop signs, and people driving from point a to point b makes it more exciting? Your doing a wheelie, stoppie, circle whatever on a piece of pavement, period.. The tricks are the same no matter where you do it.. Guess the scenery is what makes it exciting... Fuc the bikes lets just watch the scenery vids and admire traffic lights, cops, buildings, and people driving their cars. ha ha

Just had a few others that ride with me break their wrist from crashing a high chair scrape, and another, with possiable ligement damage from getting tossed doing crazy larrys.. No danger there..

I've done both street and lot... Rocked freeway wheelies for miles for a year and a half in 03-05 before I hit the lots... Streets are boring, do a few wheelies here and there, or I can go to the lot, learn and perfect new stuff and do 100 wheelies in a few hours... I hate driving on the street period whether I'm on a bike or a 4 wheeled vechile for that matter, not to mention traffic and stupid fucing cops.. Payed 1,000's of dollars in fines, inpound, and my time away from work in court, while fucing up my financial goals..

So why are streets so much more entertaining and fun?

From what I've seen lately at least here in So Cal for the most part, those doing or I should say trying to do wheelies on the street are squids, who are ignorant, stupid and havn't gotten all the fines and tickets to fuc up there life yet..

Streets r 4 squids..

Re: What happened to stunt riding?

I bet if we watched a professionally made video of Sick R1, it would look almost identical to every other video posted in the forums...

Yea actually Stunting is more fun than watching it, but its no reason to bash on peoples vids just because you cant get your jollies off watchin em..

Like someone else wisely said, if you market to just the stunters/enthusiasts, you're not thinking big enough. It's the cagers and housewives who are going ot be your money. And little kids. They go nuts for stunting.

Re: What happened to stunt riding?

What this guy is saying is that we're not doing enough or risking enough to entertain him. I for one feel terrible, sorry guy, next time I ride I'll think about you and how I'm not doing what you want for stuntlife clips. Perhaps I'll try a little harder to go to jail on your behalf. So for all of us here at stuntlife that ride often and for 3 plus hours a session we're sorry, we didn't think about you and your feelings, we're selfish. Please forgive us.

Re: What happened to stunt riding?

I'm sorry but i could careless if someone posts a vid of them learning and doing 1' wheelies or someone doing 5000 hc Os.. It's all riding and people improving themselves..It's people like you that keep people on here from sharing their learning experiences. Until you start posting vids or even pics for that matter you have no reason to post and talk ****. If you read Darius's interview..He was just offered a $30,000 sponsorship from Alpinestars..It took them along time to do it because of the negative impact his street riding would do. He since put out SIU4 which was lots and shows. All the street footage is just going to push this sport back further.
