Startin out

Aight guys, got a 05 gixxer that's sf right now but was wondering what would be the best setup for it to stunt it out? got -1 in the front, stock on the rear, full yoshi system with a stubby rs3 pipe. I wanna get a 12 bar but my buddy say's they're unforgiving compared to a round bar.

All comment's in good natuire are greatly appreciated....

Re: Startin out

Can you scrape yet? or slow wheelie? if not then don't worry about a 12 bar.. just get a crash cage and get practicing...

Re: Startin out

run stock exhaust if you can. For one, its more stealthy and less annoying. Two, it gives you better low end.

I would only get a 12 bar once you've mastered rear brake control. It is way cheaper and easier to replace tails than it is to replace or repair subframes. Same requirement goes for getting gearing. If you get gearing when you're not ready, it'll just make it harder to learn cuz it will be so touchy and jerky.

Re: Startin out

leave the stock rear for now and unless you brace the sub don't bother putting a bar on esp while learning...a plastic tail is much more forgiving than a piece of steel.

Re: Startin out

dayum, see this is the stuff my boy's here in H-town can't tell me. Thanks for all the info. Right now, my sub-frame is braced with like 1/4" alu. flatbar.... ...that's what my bud, who stunt's, said helps. But the thing is I wrecked it trying to 12 and snapped the lower end where my right rearset is. Don't really know what I can do, if anything, to delay that but like I said any info helps. Thank's again, but I gotta roll out and hit up my spot to practice.....:YEAH

Re: Startin out

I say get you self 10-12 tooth rear . and do it soon , so when you ride with it you will get use to it. Other than learning one way then changin your bike and have to learn all over again.
