Balanced wheel for stoppies????

Just wanted to hear some responces on the rear wheel being balanced or not for stoppies. In my mind i figured rolling them without being balanced maybe would effect distance and maybe would help push you over in the balance point.Just a thought becuase the local smaller shops almost never do.But the dealer ships do.It cost a little more but is it worth it for slower speeds that are reached on the stunt bike?

Re: Balanced wheel for stoppies????

When the wheel is spinning it would in a sense be wobbling instead of being smooth.Maybe effecting the balance of the bike.Depending on speed you are rolling them of course.

Re: Balanced wheel for stoppies????

If your front is really off you can feel it. For the back I dunno. You can balance wheels yourself. Just stick the axil through and prop it up on some milk crates... then roll the axil back and forth and the heavy spot drops. Stick some weights on the top and spin the wheel again. Keep doing it till there is no heavy spot dropping.
It works perfectly every time

any faster than 40mph and you'll know yourself. some tires are worse than others and need to be balanced. if you feel it i'd get it done.

Re: Balanced wheel for stoppies????

Try hitting the rear brake to stop the wheelie from spinning.
It feels totally different. I think it helps it come up higher cuz the rotating mass doesn't want to pull it back down to the ground.

I always have both tires balanced
that way I can't blame the bike

now that was a dumb answer. if you hitin bp in a stoppie and hit that rear brake your going over.

Re: Balanced wheel for stoppies????

why not...like that's some big deal...if it makes just a little difference it should be done, and I do it...both wheels...

on higher speeds riding with unbalanced (especially front) you can get shakes...that says it all...
