clutch prob
clutch prob
I have a 06 gsxr1000 and it seem's like the clutch is slippin.. I put it in 3rd gear when I was going slow to find out if it was slippin, I gas'd it and at about 4,000rpm's it stoped caching at just reved up?? So dose anyone know what to do?? One person said all I have to do is replace the clutch plates and it will be fine, Then another guy said I have to buy a whole new clutch witch is like 7-800 bucks! plus install.. There has to be an easyer way to fix this.. It just started happening a cuple days ago, So I need to fix it asap. If anyone has any idea's or know's anything about clutch's hook me up. Thanks

Re: clutch prob
If the friction is in good shape then your gonna have to take it to your dealer, the 06 has a anti back tourqe limiting clutch (slipper clutch) there is a special tool to set this feature, its a machined plate with 3 divits in it, suzuki sent there rep to our dealer when the bikes came out to show us how to adjust them.

Re: clutch prob
just replace the plates, it will rev up from less and less rpms until it is unrideable at all...i had to replace mine week or two or three after I bought the bike...first I thougt my tire slipps (when clutching it up) cuz it's bald...but then I saw it revs up and slipps on like 7k, and with time it got lower and lower...eventually on 2-3k...unable to ride at all...so replace the plates and maybe even springs...
