F4i to 954 Front End Conversion Problem
Me and my friend we disassembled the F4i front end. I got the whole 954 end including both tripples. From what I heard you can use the stock F4i neck bearings. The lower f4i bearing going into the shaft of the 954 lower triple is fine. It is the Upper bearing I am having trouble with. It seems to just fall down the shaft of the lower tripple. It not held in place of anything at all.
Please, anybody that did this conversion b4 please help! lol
I am out of ideas.
Oh BTW you guys rock, ill be posting more often once I get my stunt bike up and running. I need alot of advice lol.

Re: F4i to 954 Front End Conversion Problem
NO 954's DO NOT HAVE TAPERED BEARINGS! - Only if you put them in as an aftermarket item....stock they have normal roller bearings (Its the same bearing kit used on CBR900, 929, 954) and by the sounds of it F4i also...
go and buy a new Bearing set to suit your bike (Either Tapered or Roller) but a complete set, your problem should be solved...

Re: F4i to 954 Front End Conversion Problem
Did this conversion in the spring. Go buy the All Ballz tapered roller bearing kit for the 954($32.00). Kit comes with races and bearing. Take the shop your lower triple tree and have them pull of the old bearing and press on the new one. Tap out the old f4i races (upper and lower). If you look down the neck at the lower, you will see a groove in the frame and a little lip where you can put a socket extension or screw driver and tap it out. Same goes for the top (just look up from the bottom of the neck). When tapping in the new races, use a big socket so they will go in straight and flush. Slide the lower triple up in and place the new top bearing in the top of the frame neck. Bolt it up and roll some 600 foot stoppies.

Re: F4i to 954 Front End Conversion Problem
this **** sounds real confusing. i swapped out my f4i front for a 1000rr front and had no issues with the bearings. the bearings from the 1000rr fit in exactly how the f4i came out. it was a quick bolt up and go.
