for those of you scraping fender from what ive seen its just a sitdown coaster right? I can tap the fender sitting down but i usually bog the motor so bad it lugs down or stalls and mousetraps and my ***** arent liking that. Im thinking I just gotta learn coasters on it though so i can drag the fender.

turn your fuel selector halfway between "on" or "run" and "off"


it'll choke it out a lil, if you get it just right, you'll be able to go WAAAAAY back without the bike bogging or anything....it boggs cause there is to muhc gas entering the carb.

 

Are you using the 400sm? learning coasters will help you alot.. is the bike jetted? stock?

 

yea im trying on the SM its a stock bike, i think thats just what i gotta go from the videos ive seen of the 256North guys and darius and **** they are all doing coasters to scrape the fender so i just gotta get on those i guess.

the reason it may bog so much and stall is the stock carb isnt the greatest, i know all the 450s people are running are using the FcR they are pumpers so they work very well, i mean thats the bog part of it maybe...

 

nah the bog is cus its slowing down so much being that far past BP, its not a carb issue

only prob i got with the carb on that is it runs outta fuel after about 4-5 miles on the back wheel riding in 3rd about 45-50 but ive only had it happen twice i dont usually ride them that long on it.

 

well if you ever wanna update the carb, the FcR39 is the way to go, cost a bit but its worth it. At least thats what everyone on supermoto junkie says. I myself have the fcr on my ktm and like it but i cant do anything close to a coaster or any thing near scraping the rear fender

 

Coasters on the sm are a joke.. just keep trying 'em

 

yea i used to work at a KTM dealer and I got a FCR carb off a KTM525 that we were parting out, i just need the right jets for it.

 

are they that much easier than on a sportbike? Ive never tried them on the motard just on the f4i
