Re: How do i slow down the high speed wobble?

1st off dont practice making whoolies on the freeway . second practice using the back brake even if it takes you ruining your whoolie i learned brake control by holding the throttle at a point where its just enough to bring bike back past bp (balance point for you super squids) and dragging the back brake. ive been told this isnt the right way but after eating shyt 3 hard times it gave me more confidence and i learned fast.

Re: How do i slow down the high speed wobble?

i find my wobbles come right before bp if i dont bring it up quick enough
, if i bring it past bp and coast this seems to smooth out the rear end.
if you going 60-120 your not riding bp wich is why your bike wobbles. just my

Re: How do i slow down the high speed wobble?

ok, ok, ok.....

Boy do I have some stories for you guys. Let me say from the time i lefdt up until now, I had a blast.

OK so I start to head to OKC. The weather is real cloudy and started to drizzle. I have a few sections where I will bust it up for a little ways. I could've gone back to my old ways and have both feet up front and not really cover the brake and mob it for 1.5miles or so. But I decided not to.

I busted it up a few times in those areas and sure enough, my twitchy hand I noticed it to wobble. The bike was sort of clock up. Meaning, come up so far and go down a few, go up some more and then down a few until I come near bp.

I didn't like that. So I think about what i did and plan the next one to be more smooth. The next one I did went straight up, stayed there and was going good until it started to wobble a bit.

I set it down and rode normal. Up ahead I see 2 undercovers and 1 marked sheriff subruabn. I stayed slow and let traffic pass me a bit. At this point the spinkles got heavier. Now the entire freeway is wet and cars are spraying me in my sweater and the bike all up.

I decide to beat the storm back to where I cam. So I stopped off at this one shop in OKC and told them I'll be back next week.

SO I leave.

I start heading back and was going north. At this point the storm was behind me about 10min back moving slow. The hwy is now dry again. I head to the gas station fill up and go back north. After 3min I hit it up again, ride it out for a bit. Nice ways actually. Now keep in mind the whole time before I was bouncing. Now, I am only clutching. I could clutch sit downs but standups were weird. I had to get the hand of using 1 finger. Then just secondsafter setting it down, over the hill comes a City Cop car, and 3secs behind him hauling *** was an undercover Dodge Charger with the lights all stealth. Then on the side it said (OHP) in small dark blue letters. The only way I knew it was a cop was that no car ( trucks off road maybe) had tooooo many damn little piaa lights all over behind the grill.... So again, got lucky. Thats 5 COPS in 30min.

So then this truck is hauling ***. They pass me and I keep up. We get back the that "spot" where i was before and I give them a signal to give me some room. They do. I bust it up, pass this lexus that was heading to our OSU game, and all of a sudden, NO WOBBLES!!!. It was awesome. They gave me thumbs up and grabbed their beers and went like " cheers" to me. After I set it down, we came up to a bridge. On the bridge is a cop. He starts going and hauls *** on the off-ramp. Now he is behind the drunken dudes that are heading to our campus to see the football game or the nutty motorcycle man.

By he way we are beating the **** out the them 52-3.

The cop follows hard on MY *** for a while. My license plate is bent, he can't see **** but it being registered and up to date.

All of a sudden he swerves left, and gets off the hwy. This makes COP #6...

I get happy. Me and drunken dudes ( 3 of'em) go for a few miles at 90 then both get off. We get on this other smaller hwy. I do it 3 more times as it was only me, them, lexus man with OSU decor all over his car, and the armadillos that got hit by some other car earlier.

I bust it up again, felt the wobble and as I hurried and got it up higher it got slight. Then set it down due to a curve coming up.

I do it 3 more times in the next 10miles or so. Now I am really getting the hang of this. I go some more ( another 8miles and get off). I wave to drunk guys, they honk as they enjoyed it the whole time and took another route to the campus.

I go and bust it up again on another road. In 12 miles there is 20 houses so its out in the cut.

Now I am trying to get the feeling of being high. I mean real high, for me anyway. I did it, covered my brake, and shabam. I hit balancing point and rode it for a long ways. It felt goood. I was lgith feeling. My body position was good, etc. What happened was i thought "maybe I should lcutch it up doing 40 so I can get to 60 and stay there" ... I got to 70 and was riding 70 nice and smooth. I freaked out as i thought I saw a cop and set it down.

Come home, let the dog out, get back opn the bike and leave to head to my fav spot out in the boonies.

well, I go ands hit it a few more times. Not a car in sight on this hwy. I do it again, and again, and again.

Now I LOVE clutching slower. I was so far out when I see lights and a car hauling *** towards me. They are a mere glimmer but at those speeds, i wasn't going to wait around. Probably a Park Ranger. COP #7. It's real hilly around here and went slow until i went down and out of radar and gunned it. Hit our twisty section which you can't get out of second gear as its too twisty. I know the area and mob through. I haul *** to another hwy and mob it up before getting into town. I set it down, and ride slow and all of a sudden, ANOTHER cop ( my town) rolls by on the freeway. COP #8...

I roll into town and go to this one spot that has a long straight, no cars but is still not allowed. I go down there and bust it up, there and back. I pull out, roll a stoppie and then 3 COPS come rolling out the driveway thing ahead in from of the military armory thing. Now ALL three are behind me. I am almost POSITIVE they heard me tearing it up back there and maybe saw me with a headlight shining to the sky.

All of a sudden the truck in front of me decides not to turn right and go left. he left JUST enough room for me to pass safely. I cruise ahead and turn right. The one cop turned the other way so 2 are heading behind me. By the time I turned right, and go slow. Then once I go over the hill and they have 1 blck to catfch up I gun it and make a hard left into a recreation center driveway. I turn around, and they roll past. The 2 of them add up to COP # 10.

At that point I fugured its time to come home and park it.

So anyhow, I have learned today how to get it to balancing point by method of clutching, I learned to bust it up going slow as hell, I also figure that my dumb *** was screwing up clutching sit downs as well. I could do them on my other bike but this bike is newer with better technology. I can do my sit downs again and stand ups both clutching as well as using the brake to save me if needed.

Speding up or slowing down while moving at balancing point...

You guys are awesome....

Thx...

I also plan on making a short video so you guys can critique my ***.....

oh,m your a new guy here. He man, I have by FAR the holder of the longest posts of al times. As some have said " He may not have the highest post numbers but wins with the word count..."

I tend to type ALOT!!!.

I HAVE slowed down a bit though. I rmember the days, like 2yrs ago, where I'd post and it'd tell me I have too many words. So I'd make a post, then continue it in the next reply, and reply again in a 3rd reply b/c of too many words....

Those days are gone but I guess when I get amped and excited ( plus a few cold beverages) I tend to roll on......hahaha

You don't lean to steer? For me, even before I REALLY hit it like today I would lean all over that damn thing to move to the middle of the hwy or around a beer can or something. Just lean, you'll get it....Bp is really easy to steer.... Not around 45 degree turns or anything but you can shift slowerly between lanes...

if you hit bp turning yur bike should be a breeze..just lean into it and turn your bars abit oppisit the way you wanna go(like counter stearing) that sould keep you away from the edge of the road.
