Question What kind of gearing are you guys running?

Just wondering what kind of gearing everyone is running.

Also...has anyone gone down 2 in the front on a 99 R6? If so do you have a problem with kinking the chain? If no one has....do you guys think it will be a problem? Because I would like to drop 2 in the front and go up 4 in the rear. Thanks for any info!!!

1 down in front 3 up in rear, when you go 2 down or more in front it puts a hella work load on your motor, just go up more in the back to compensate for the 2nd one down in the front.plus you dont have to worry about your chain making such a tight turn.

1 down 5 up

That is what I have on my gsxr 750 and it works fine for fast or slow wheelies, my friend went 2 down 10 up and that is a little much for me, plus he can't ride that good but he did it anyway.

CRAZY DAN is a decent person
the nine five four shizzle has been stock all year.....finally called up sprocket specialists to get some gears. they told me i couldnt go down any in the front. I wanted 2 down up 10, so I ended up getting a 16 up in the rear. Will see how **** goes. I dont see where anything would rub, darius is rockin a 2 down up 12 on his 929. basicly the same.

it it looks tacky and to damn big, im going to try 1 down and up 12

and will add the 59 tooth star to my kitchen cabinent

Hey Dan just to let you know the 929 sprockets work on the 954 and I went -1 +3 on mine and have had no Problems with it -1 up front.

It's all about throttle Control and rear brake Control once you have that then your wheelies will be better. Changing the gearing will just help slow down your wheelies while attempting 12's or 11 O'Clock slow **** wheelies. If you are looking to do long **** highway wheelies then keep it stock. The more you change your gearing the faster you will redline. It pops up easier but unless your at atleast 11 O'Clock rideing the brake you will redline before you know it. Just my

i'm 1 down front 2 up rear on my daily 929 and it's awsome that way, didn't lose much top end either.

i think for my stunt 929 i'm going 1 down front 5 up rear.....maybe 7 up rear but i still want some highway stunts so i'l have to decide.

oh ya, that 1 down front 2 up rear uses stock chain

i am trying to decide what i want to go. i need a new chain and sprockets anyway, and just starting to get the hang of 12s, i had some people tell me you should start out about 1 down up3 and then go up. im at 1 down up 1 right now and i think i am just gonna go right to 1 and 8, cause i dont want to buy another chain if i went from 3 to 8.

my ?? is you think 1 down 8 up is too much for me since im just gettin the hang of them?? i have got 12s down enough to where my bike is wanting to die cause im goin too slow.
