how much would be the mentainance
hello fellas,
I am plannin to upgrade to a bigger bike for stunts. and i plan to put crash cages, 12' bar and everyting on the bike. totally remove the plastices.
basically to make my query more specific i am thinkin of buyin a used f4i. i would like to know how much green would go on the mentainance of the bike.
that would include everything lilke all the wear and tear parts(clutches, sprockets, brake pads forseals etc).
excluding the part that i crash on the bike while stuntin. what would be the mentainance of the bike.

Once you get your bike "set up" the maintance on a F4i is not much.
Chain ever two seasons or so, battery every 3rd season, clutch every 3rd or 4th season, maybe more on the clutch while you're learning.
If you want to keep full plastics, well that's a cost I wouldn't recomend while learning. Cages do a great job of protecting the expencive componants.
Brake pads are an issuse again while learning, they are about $35-$45 for a set of OEMs, save yourself the expence of trying cheaper pads as they do not last and they, for the lack of getting into detail $***.
Stunting is a little tough on the fork seals but with a "Good" rebuild they can last for several seasons.
Good luck to ya.

Expect to spend about $300-$500 to set it up initially (cage, 12-bar, and sprocket) and then another $30+ every time you break a peg bracket or clip-on.
As far as maintenance, an oil change is only about $20+ depending on what kind of oil and filter you use. I've never had to change a set of clutches on a stunt bike, but you're looking at about $100+ if you do it yourself and get new fibers and steels. Brake pads are about $30 a set (2 sets on the front). You'll buy more rear pads than front when you begin to learn brake control. Fork seals and fork oil will run you about $40 if you can do it yourself, or it will cost you about $100 per side to have a shop do it for you.
Add the cost of tires in there too because clutching up wheelies, doing burnouts, and doing stoppies wears out your tires quickly.
Disclaimer: All prices listed here are conservative estimates. Your costs will vary depending on what kind of hookup you can get and how much you have to spend on shipping.

well guys its different here in india. its lot let relaxed .. u dont get caught for speedin tickets, u dont get caught for stuntin, even if u do u get off with about 50 bucks, thats like 1 USD.
so all i have to spend here is on the bike.
