wheelie new 750??

Help needed. I own and 2006 GSXR 750 and have approx 900 riding miles on it. I have had bikes in the past but it has been three years since I've rode. I am interested in doing some wheelies with this 750 and thought I would start with power wheelies in 2 gear. No matter where I crack the throttle open, it will not bring the wheel off the ground even a little. Are the new ones geared now to prevent this or am I still such am amateur? Help would be appreciated.

Re: wheelie new 750??

if you want to wheelie without the clutch in second you will probably need to stand up and bounce on the pegs to load the rear suspension.

Re: wheelie new 750??

1st gear for power wheelies good place to start. Sit down though. Second gear power wheelies are hard. I can get my 05 six up in second by clutching it sitting down.

Re: wheelie new 750??

First gear power is how I got used to them, good way to start. Just watch the hard landings, yours nuts will be sore.
It took me like an hour of non stop bouncing to figure out the second gear power wheelies. Its all timeing between the bounce and the throttle. You'll get it, it just takes practise.
That 750 you have is able to be bounced up in 4th with no clutch.

Ever if you were able to power it up in second you would be on your *** fast. Quaranteed if you got it off the ground with power it would just loop from all the power you are using. Clutch it up with a lil bounce. Its possible with stock gearing. I can clutch my girls 99 R6 in second with a lil bounce. Just my

hey this is jamie from CT STUNT, something that might work good for you is putting one foot back on the passenger foot peg...one thing that is important is to put your left foot back so your right has access to the rear brake pedal...ok soo when you are in 2nd gear stand up, put your left foot on the pass. peg...@ around 6k rpm clutch it...if the bike goes too far back hit the rear brake pedal...it will put the front end down...try it out this may just work for you...

It happened to me (or something did). My girl got me a new pipe and I could feel an increase in power so I started trying to bounce it up with the throttle in 2nd. It stood, what felt like, straight up. I held on, chopped throttle and it started a wicked wobble. I rode it till it smacked over on the right side. Smashed my new pipe and Vortex rear set. The soild peg and frame slider prevented alot of damaged to bike, leather jacket and gloves saved my upper half. Had little road rash on knees and ankles. My wallet was a 300 ft yard sale. I've progressed quite a bit and clutch everything now.

Re: wheelie new 750??

Thanks to all who replied. Taking a poll from all it seems I should start trying to clutch up second gear. Clutching is a whole other discussion that I would be more than glad to take advice on also. Thanks again everyone. Nice place to come for good advice.

Re: wheelie new 750??

I heard that the 06 gixxer where harder to wheelie with, because of the way they are designed. They are great bikes for curves, and where made most especially in that optic.
