I would say get the 12R the 9 is a lil down on power, the 12 make about the same HP as a 600cc sport bike ...........

Re: Thanks to the National Guard
Thanks. I have been looking for some unbiased info about which is a better all around bike. I'm not just about power, I like a good flickable bike, too, though I love the torque.
Re: Thanks to the National Guard
I'm not going to stunt mine up. As long as I don't bring it to TX with me when I go visit Tim and crew. They'll sneak off and do it while I'm not looking I suspect.Do you have '06s and if you do, how do you deal with the tank fan? Does it interfere with denting it in, or affect your stability and grip during highchairs and stuff if you can't dent it?
Oh, and sorry to go OT. I'm still really blown away that the National Guard is backing a group of stunters, it's good news for the whole sport IMO. It shows a little hint of the government recognizing this sport as something other than a nuisance.

Re: Thanks to the National Guard
ya, how did you manage that sponsorship? I've been an NBC NCO for the 438th chemical company for 5 years now, coming up on 6. When i got hurt at a stuntshow (broken ankle) all i got was an article 15 and lost pay, but now they are PAYING people to do what they penilized me for? that's ****ed up.
maybe soldiers would stay in if they paid us more money instead of dropping it on stupid advertisements. i seriously doubt nascar and nhra sponsorships are going to start drawing huge crowds to join...but what do i know, i'm only a stupid army sergeant.
awsome work on the sponsorship though. what all are they going to do for you? get everything in writing and be careful, the military loves to screw people over when you aren't on your toes.

Re: Thanks to the National Guard
Someone should try the Marine Corps. I was in the Marines when they were the first ones to sponsor the X-games
IF the Marine Corps would sponsor stuntin then i would be in heavin cuz im in the Marine Corps now and im always getting **** about riding bikes...they are getting so strick and so stupid about motorcycle riders in general.

Not sure what you mean about the "tank fan". The Fan is above the rear cylinder, basicly under the seat. As far as the tank/airbox cover. Hard as hell to do tank stuff without it dented. They can be dented with a little work though. I cut my airbox cover down then heated the airbox cover with a torch and pressed it in till i got the desired shape then poured cold water on it to cool it. see pics
