new to stunting, What gearing?

Ive only been riding for about 6 months and i really want to get into the stunt scene, As of now i have stock gearing 15-40 i can hit the balance point in 1st and 2nd and i can do seat standers in 2nd but the problem is in 2nd gear im doing about 75 and i am afraid if i lay it down i'll be F***ed and first gear is to hard to stunt at slow speed's. So my question is what do you guys recomend as far as gearing? i see most of you are running -1, + 20, i was thinking for me -1,
+10-12? I would still like my bike to run about 140 in case i get into some sticky situations. Thank's alot for any help, and please dont hate to much.

Welcome.Sounds like you got the idea, I would also recomend droping your tire pressure to 12-15psi to help you learn slow stuff.

Re: new to stunting, What gearing?

You've only been riding a bike for 6 months, practice, practice, practice, and practice some more on your stock gears. If you still want to go 140, buy a seperate stunt bike cuz that gearing your talking about -1 +10/12 isn't gonna work.

That search button licks nuts, I tried it a few times with no luck at all. they need more stickies in the tech/setup section.

Re: new to stunting, What gearing?

i would say keep your stock gearing till you really get the slow stuff down. oo yeah your going to end up ****ing that bike up it you want to start stunting so take off all the fairings

+1 mang and remember to calibrate your speedo, the ideal way is to keep your stock sprockets and master(thottle control, clutch, rearbrake) before gearing up your bike. but if u have made up your mind already then what DINO suggested is very good start, it'll allow you to lose no more than 10% top end speed and still pulling some decent combos. the bigger the gearing the slower your bike will be in the highway, so u need to consider that if u use your bike to commute and other things
BTW the gearing you mentionned "-1+10? is not for you if u still wanna reach "140mph" like u want
a -1 in the front is equal to +3 in the back ok
