Skateboarding, FMX ect is still done illegally and is still big.. There will always someone doing wheelies on the streets, and that's not going to stop it from growing and going mainstreme...

yes but there is no MX guys seting up ramps in the highway doing jumps and FMX may inspire kids to go out and do it, but it does not efect the rest of the world i.e mom and paw driving there mini van to the store to get soda pop......and skateboards have no motors.... it's an image thing no one will sponsor you if they think your riding the street stunting, it makes them look bad!

Yes BUT, if some one eats it on the streets on a skate board, theyre most likely not gonna potentially kill some one.....and an out-of-control sportbiker might toss a bike into a car full of kids....

weather or not thats entirely true, in most average people's eyes, that the way they see it

i hate the conception people get that if this goes big, we all go big, no fvcking way, most of us will still be hitting the lots on the weekends riding with friends, and doing local shows

i personally dont want it to go big, i like being part of somthing underground, something that people look at u and go "WTF r u thinking"

if this went big so many more kids would go finanace a bike and crash it, and this **** would be so cliche its not even funny

think about facts over feelings like kendall said in the begining of this thread

alls that will happen if it goes big, it will give some people the "glimpse" of hope that one day they will too be at the top, well that is just a setup for failure because as we all know, they will wreck a few times, waste $ on parts and say fvck it and give up like we have all seen time and time again

get ur heads out of ur asses please and think about the facts

and say what u want time and time again about how this **** is extreeme, ya it is, but we need to apease to the general public who has the attention span of 3minuets, watch the reactions at ur local shows, no one really gives 2 *****

bring back the nick hill style **** and maybe u have a chance
i understand what you are saying but i disagree, and since some folks
keep relating this sport to fmx, i'll use that. when the x-games first came
on tv travis came out and destroyed the comp at like 14-15 yrs old. now how many kids saw that and said d.a.mn i want to do that, and went and bought, or their parents bought them a dirt bike and they tried tricks in the air??
even my kids were trying that ****. well people are goning to do the same with sportbikes!! my kids are just waiting till we get this 600 from a friend, if it ain't destroyed by the that time, to start stunting it! they already have ridden it a couple of times and are off to a pretty good start!! but i believe that if a kid comes up asks you to help out with some tricks, you should! passing it on!! and let the sport grow! just my 2 cents!!

Good thread,
If this "sport" go's big only like 3% of stunters will get anything out of it - all the "little" stunters that are getting a bit of free **** or a discount here and there wont get that **** anymore - sponsors will just pore $$ into the big names

I dont think thats any different then how it is now, except the money across the board will increase.

there are big name FMX guys (a lot more BIG names then 2 years ago btw) and there are hundreds of privateer FMX guys. sadly some of those privateer FMX guys have it easier than some of our PRO guys.

make sense?

Ultimately, its not about money. U wanna make money... get a job.

Yeah we all know that no matter what, its like any sport where only a small handfull will be making the big money, HOWEVER thats not the point of this thread.....I dont really care if I hit it big from this, I just sometimes wonder how much wow factor we have for the biggest of oppportunities in the X-Games

I wonder that too.. but i think we as riders forget a lot of the time how amazing our talents are to people that are not riders.

I watch FMX, BMX, or big air skate and am totally amazed.. but i bet to them they look at others sports and are like WTF?

when i met TJ Lavin, all he could talk about is how he thought WE are crazy for doing our sport... maybe he was just being humble.. but i thought it was kewl.

Re: This sport aint going to the X-Games....

Kewl haha your so gay some times lol

No I know what you mean.....Ive had so many moto-xers and road racers tell me that im crazy and ****....

But here is the thing. When Pastrana was getting ready to do the double back flip, my heart started beating a little faster and I was actually nervous for him. I wasnt totally flipping out, just a little quicker of a heart beat......and the only time I usually feel that is when I myself am about to do something, I never get that feeling watching fellow stunters do ****...

But like you said, maybe its because im in the sport and I know what it takes

I feel ya totally. i was watching wayy gripped to the chair.. hell no lie i had a feshly showered half naked hottie next to me wanting to play.. but was like.. woha.. hold on one sec.. gotta watch this.. i was sick worried he was gonna eat it. but i think we forget to that the backflip was one of those tricks that the entire FMX sport only 5-6 years ago said was... IMPOSSIBLE..

imagine if Darius, Kyle, Teach.. all said.. no way its impossible.. no handed highchair.. cant be done.. (on live EPSN to a fast growing interested nation).. then.. 2 years later.. feri potzner is like.. what..

problem i think is.. our sport.. the athletes are too fukin amazing dude. i see riders advance so fast in such a short time.. i cant even think of impossible tricks..

which goes back to my saying, (any kyle woods / sillynecks's proving) we need a 3rd dimension.

180 endos on car hoods is jsut the begining. i think.

but who knows eh?
