Pros and Cons of 600cc bikes??

I'm just looking for what people think are the pros and cons of stunting on the 600s? They are obviousely a little shorter on power, but also don't quite have as much weight. I know there are a good share of guys on 600s, so I was just looking for a little input.

I'm looking at getting back on a sportbike and continue learning tricks and picking stuff up as I go. What I've been looking for is a wrecked or salvaged 954 or 900 that was halfway cheap. However I was at the dealer today and they have a 2002 (new) R6 that has some damage from coming loose in the shipping crate. The top tripple clamp is all scratched to hell. The complete right side fairing, tail section, and exhaust can all are pretty banged up. All cosmetic damage, which is just fine for a stunt piece. And they have it at apretty good price.

I just don't know if I will really like the 600 though. Up until 9 months ago I had a TL1000S that I really liked.

Well, first off, I am a real true beginner at stunting. 1st gear power wheelies are easy, and clutching it up in 2nd is the best way to go. Stoppies are real easy to do. But sometimes it sucks not having any low end power outside of 1st gear. You could always gear it though

i have an 2001 r6 and there is nothing better than a third gear stand up on the highway next to some joker that has a hard time getting his 1000cc bike on its end. sean
p.s. the powers there you might have to work of it and also cheap insurance!!

Mine is set though, with the gearing. Rock the 12's

i have a 929 and i'm buying a second one for strickly stunt. I suggest you check on ebay for them. I find wrecked gixxer600's and stuff all the time for like 3 grand with just plastic damage. That'swhat is wrong with this 929 i'm buying for stunt. I like my 929,but i hopped on my friends gixxer600 (01)and i rode a wheelie longer and more controled than i ever have before so i'm considering a 600. If it's strickly for stunt, just get a 600 and gear it all to hell adn you won't notice the diff. The only thing about that gixxer is that i can't stoppie at all on it....but i can roll them awsome on my 929. Ifi don't get good on this stunt 929 i'm just gonna get a gixxer600 or 750.

it's all about gearing with a 600.
oh ya, insurance is cheap too...but if it's a stunter...why insure it?

R6's suck for stunnin. they have a 4 piston rear caliper which is TOO MUCH back brake. also the steep rake on the front end makes tank slappers a regular occurance when on your on the front wheel.

I have no problem with the back brake on my R6...but ya rolling long endo's can be a pain but i never had a steering damper on mine for the past year and all the footage in our video of me i dont have a steering damper i never get tank slappers in wheelies just in stoppies. I have a damper now and the best thing about the R6 is the carbs rock...very smooth in slow wheelies and at 12 oclock no stall problems.

I have a 98 900rr and id rather stunt my R6 now =/...i wouldnt say it is best bike to learn on but once you get used to it its small...good carbs...not a bad stunt bike at all.
