Got Screwed On My Shortie!!

I took my pipe off my 929 to take it to a local welded to get it shortened like I have read up in here on. So I tell them exactly what to do( cut the cap off/cut it back about 6 inches/leave on of the baffles long enough to be cover by the cap and cut the other 2 back about an inch/then weld the cap back on),and if they ran into any problem to call me. They said no problem, they stated they were some of the best welders in Tucson. They said it would take 3 days cause they were behind. So 2 weeks later I get a call its done. They told me when I took it in, it would be between $100 and $150. When they called and told me it was done, they said it was $180. So I go to pick it up and man it looked like ***. They cut it about 2 inches below the cap instead of cutting the cap off for one. Then when they cut 6 inches off and welded it back together they weld looked like someone sodered it with a grip of sodering iron. I mean it was the nastiest weld ever. Then I asked about the baffles and they said they cut them but could do it right, so its going to be alot louder. I was like WTF, why didn't you call me. They stated they said they never said they would call me if there was a problem. So I either had to pay for a fizucked up shortened loud *** pipe or leave it. I was like WTF man and they threatened to call the police. I was on lunch in my work uniform so I had to leave. So now I am out a pipe. I got it off ebay for cheap and it was the stock pipe.

What short aftermarker pipe you guy recommend for my 929?? I don't want to have to deal with getting another stock and getting it cut again. And getting fizucked with no vaseline sucks ***. So any ideas for a already short aftermarket pipe would be really appreciated right now. I want one thats not all loud too. If anyone has one that has been shorted and will fit my 92nizzle let me know. Any help please!! Trying to get bike ready for stunt show!!

Re: Got Screwed On My Shortie!!

Sorry to hear about your pipe.. I have a 03 gsxr 600 with a yoshi pipe.. I shortened it down to 11 1/2 inches reworked the baffle and took alot of the packing out in about 1 1/2 hrs.. It looks like factory only shorter, and now it pulls way harder past 7000 rpm.. I have done a few for some friends and the sound is like a race bike .. I will try to take some pics of it and post them K...

Re: Got Screwed On My Shortie!!

buy a hacksaw and a rivet gun, and borrow a friend's electric drill. do it yourself for about $9. . .keep the receipt and return the rivet gun when you're done.

Dremels work real nice, tape the line, and follow that as a guide. Returning the rivet gun after use is a great idea!

Re: Got Screwed On My Shortie!!

If it's any comfort, you are not the only one. I had the same issue with the "hand cannon" Honda calls a pipe and decided to chop it after posting a thread about it 2 weeks ago. I'm not thrilled with the final result either (sounds and looks weird) but I only paid $40 for it, besides It's gonna get smashed soon so I don't worry too much, However for the amount they charged you $180 you should go back and tell them that you are very unhappy and that the pipe is a loss and ask for some money back ($100) because the job was shitty and doesn't deserve that much. If I was not I would have gotten this one for my F4i Two Bros M-2 Exhaust from here
http://www.haibikeshop.com/store/ind...dex&cPath=1_19 (this one is for the 929)
they make it in a 10" now that's good luck mang and see if Kaneone can beat their deal with the FMF which is also nice
