Bout time... Tucking
Bout time... Tucking
Out at the spot, just learned
to tuck into HC, FF w/ Clipons and I'm over 6ft tall. :YEAH
I know this trick isnt new but i had a question about it... for those of you tucking, do you lead with your foot or your knee. I tried both and had MUCH better luck leading with my foot. Im not putting both thru at the same time.
So what do you guys, especially whoever is doing it with FF/clipons think?
thanks!

Re: Bout time... Tucking
on my 636 thats how i kicked my key off.. I found if i turned the bars a bit it gave me a little extra room to fit the leg through.. that and sitting far back.. Im 6'2... and have huge feet so you gota be like gumby.. Cut that key if you havent already.. beleive me it sucks getting ejected off the front when your half on and half over like that..
Re: Bout time... Tucking
Me and Ed duct taped the *** out of my key cause i wanted to learn tonight. Tomorrow im going and getting another key made and cutting it.
I got back out once, basically just did everything in reverse...
D, i have no idea how you are going both at once... or KNEE's first... i need to strech more or something?!?!

I do both at the same time on my 50
I still don't see how you guys tank combo on a big bike
Re: Bout time... Tucking
i could do both at once on my f4 but not a chance on the 636,, the tank is alot more forward and the bars are alot lower so there is just not enough room.. Either that or the bike was just too new and i was just being a puss i dono..

Re: Bout time... Tucking
I just learned to go tuck from special k to hc. I can only slide my left leg through now. Def have to get your elbows in first.
I flipped my stock 636 clip-ons over but left them under the triple clamp. It made it a little easier but I rode this setup for a while and didn't like how the clip-ons point upwards now. Its def not my style so I switched them back.
anyone running them 0 degree FI clip-ons ona 636? feed back ?
john I am about 6 ft tall and have a lot of trouble learning this stuff like you.
I don't have an upper right now but I will soon. I leave the windscreen off.
I don't know why everone is cutting down there keys? I got a scotts dampner and it protects it from getting kicked off. I know most of us have dampners.
is anyone doing this on a 636 with a full un chopped upper and windscreen?
It seems almost impossible to me .

LOL! yeah im going to try to stretch a little everyday to see if it makes this easier and see if i can get the knees first method to work too so MAYBE one day i can go both feet at same time. Im with Greg though, 6' tall with long legs and size 13 shoes, its tough to pull all that through! LOL
disturbed6R - yeah i beat my tank back another inch or so after i did it once and it was a bit easier. I like the tank back farther a little bit compared to how it was
Greg - I want to cut the key cause i run a side mount damper on the stunner (its a RR) so that there is no chance of kicking it off... that would be a bad day! Also, I run the 0 degree FI clip-ons and they are PIMP! you can turn them out a little and between that and the 0 degree it gives you a lot more room! I have a full upper and my screen is only cut down about 2 inches. I think i could still tuck with a full screen.
Thanks for the input and good responses guys!
come on though, i know there are a lot more of you out there tucking w/ clipons! post up!

john: i'm working on doing the same thing.....i have had little to no success though......****, i have a hard time doing it when the bike isn't IN a wheelie, just sitting on the center stands.....but it's definately something i'm going to keep working on....

Thanks bro!
Actually its EASIER when you are in a wheelie... dont know why... maybe gravity or something helping you?!?!?
but you basically have to just go for it, just work on getting your left leg thru first, that seems to be the easiest.Keep killing it and reppin USA over there in china!
Re: Bout time... Tucking
knees to chest then pull feet thru i did it on a 929 with full upper and windscreen it just takes somepractice on my f4i i could pull both thru at the same time with full upper and windscreen and the clip-ons wherenot turnedout on either bike
