Re: Dirtbike Bar stoppies = New Class

People say DB bars are cheating...may be...never ridden one..but i can tell u that a 65 tooth sprocket and a stocker sprocket are two diff bikes..if ur gonna start ****in up the sport by makin classes and **** what u can and cant do to ur bike, ur just ****in the flow up. if you wanna do that just bring a few stock 600s and tell every one they have to rock their tricks on them. see who the best "stunter" is. as far as talent. Its not like drag racing where they limit power adders and **** cuz of people who cant afford alchohol injected twin turbo nitrous rail cars. i mean ****...a 70 dollar set of DB bars and a 150 for a handbrake. I say either get it and ride with it or dont and let that be your "IN YOUR FACE" thing. But **** leave the sport alone.

I honestly would feel bad winning they were so easy compared to my regular bike.

You guys with bars that have changed from stock know this is true

I think King of the South later this year or 2007 will be separated or something changed.

What do you guys think?
I am a little late on this post since the thread has already been high jacked by retired old Star Wars fans....but I don't think there is an advantage in distance......there is a definate advantage in steering (ie wide 180's) but not so much in distance.....

Re: Dirtbike Bar stoppies = New Class

Bikes don't come with cages, bars, stainless lines, smashed tanks, handbrakes or a host of other things that provide a competitive edge. I personally think circles are much easier with clipons than DB bars. Burnouts are easier with clipons, that's for sure. Bars are a preference, not necessarily an unfair advantage in my opinion. There are pro's and con's to each. For stoppies they will most likely improve your distance. In many cases, definitely improve your distance. And what Joe said, it's a mathematical given that they will give you more leverage and make 180's and control much easier.

Re: Dirtbike Bar stoppies = New Class

DB bars or Clipons. Anyone can learn how to rock either or, or both. I ran db bars and my stoppies got ALOT better. But i went back to clipons because they have less of a rise from the forks. We alter our bikes to make it easier to do what we want to do but the main point of the game is to have fun.
