Re: First wheelie!!!

When you wheelie in first without using the clutch, you have to start out and then when you get going a little, turn the throttle quickly and the front wheel will raise up, right? I cant help with any tips since I just have a pocket bike but if anyone has any tips on soing wheelies on a pocket bike, please post. I cant get the wheel up but cant hold it. Thanks.

Re: First wheelie!!!

i started by using my clutch, power wheelies to me felt like i had less control, plus you can start off at a slower speed and ride them longer if you dont know bp.
just got to be easy at first, dont dump the clutch at 14000 roilling 10 mph, just do about 7 or so at about 15-20, and see how that feels, then each time either raise the rpms, or slow your speed, its easier to find bp slower then faster, or at least it was for me

Re: First wheelie!!!

I just started stunting at the end of Febuary. I started with sit down power wheelies, and did that for about a month. Then I started reading on this forum to clutch and stand up stagered. I learned to clutch it up but didn't have the ***** the stand up. So for 3 months I was sitting clutching it up, finding the BP but couldn't ride for more than like 200 or 300 yards. Finally 2 weeks ago I grew some ***** and stagered it. Now 2 weeks later I can ride for as long as my arms will let me. And that is like 5 6 miles. I am learning the rear brake and stearing them right now. Next weekend I am going to try to slow them down.
So to summarize that, sitting down held me back so bad!! Honestly stand up stagered and you have so much more control of the bike!!

Re: First wheelie!!!

really... to tell you the truth, i prefer sitdowns. i know they might be a bit harder, but i just feel secure doing it. maybe i should quit being a ***** and do some standups, i just had a bad experience on a standup. i experienced alot of front and backflips, with a ton of tumbling, and i was madddd pink!

Re: First wheelie!!!

I wouldn't use your clutch in first gear, you'll end up looping your bike out if you ain't careful. Use your clutch in second gear or get a new sprocket and you won't need a clutch at all. I have an R6 and I can pull it up in 2nd with no clutch and no mods.

Re: First wheelie!!!

Bad advice? Should rookies really be clutching 1st gear? I had a friend loop his bike out trying his first wheelie this way. He said he couldn't get it up w/out clutch, I got on it and pulled it up n 2nd gear with no clutch. Ya tell me I only been stuntin for a couple of years.

Re: First wheelie!!!

power wheelies aren't "stuntin" clutching is the ONLY way to wheelie... powering it up is unpredictable, and you gain a shitload of speed... your friend was just inexperienced and did it wrong

Re: First wheelie!!!

Oh I'm just fine! Just need to get my terminology straight. So power wheelies is like pulling it up on the highway and holding it for miles and stuntin is more of twelve o'clockin it? Hey, I'll learn.
