Subframe Mod Idea

So I pretty much broke my subframe in half (not down the middle). I'm seriously considering leaving it the way it is and putting sort of a step plate on it. I don't scrape or do (so-called gay) foot in bar tricks. I rode the other day with my bike having NOTHING AT ALL behind the seat and I didn't so much mind it. What I want to do it put on a plate, bolted to the reinforcing plates on the subframe, that I can put my heels on when I'm doing SS and combos and ****. I know it's different, but it may or may not be better. I don't ride with a passenger, so it's not like I actually need anything behind me when I'm riding. Here are a few (don't make too much fun of my MS Paint ability) mockups that I came up with.

wow, I forgot the legend for the pic.
Green-reinforcing plate
Grey-original suubframe
blue-seat
red-new material for the plate

It's gonna be bolted on and probably have grip tape on the top of it so I don't slip.
It may be ghetto fabulous, but it might work.

Re: Subframe Mod Idea

Boxer, in SSB mag, sorta gave me the idea for it. all that crap behind the seat is wasted space for me anyway, I only use the little area I put my heels on when I'm standing up there anyway

Re: Subframe Mod Idea

thanks for the pics. That's about what mine looks like right now.

I just don't like the feeling doing combos and jumping back to the seat with nothing there under my heels. it's a very strange feeling.

Re: Subframe Mod Idea

yeah, I did a nice couple of SS down the road Tues night in 3rd and it wasn't the greatest feeling, but I thought a bar to put the back of my feet on would help.

I know WHEN I loop it, it's gonna ****.

Re: Subframe Mod Idea

A bit on the dangerous side, in case of a mishap having nothing sheilding you from the chain / sprocket...Could just see a foot getting jammed in between the wheel and swingarm....not good..

How long will it take b4 we see someone scraping seat...lol....

Cheers
