No I totally agree with you on that Jason...I just meant that I've seen alot of people post up in the past saying they've hit 287162ft from a 300ft approach before. But I've been in most of the stoppie comps the past few yrs, and everyone of them seems to only have 3-4 people in the race for 1st.

And yeah, I gotta make a trip out there in the next few months:YEAH

Not many people have a 1300' long, flat spot at their disposal. And if you just stay on the bike and get good and comfy here, one may surprise themselves.

But, yeah, unless you can do it in a comp...pretty much useless...

First off Ryan ... all the respect in the world, but ... I don't really know a whole lot about competing from a professional standpoint, but this thread was pretty much based on that subject so I am trying to stick to its context, so take my comment with a grain of salt ... I don't understand why so many people can't grasp the concept of the evolution of a sport? Why is it that when a person(or many people for that matter) tries something new and it brings new levels to the sport, is it considered cheating? Are hand-brakes cheating? Cages? Bars? When/who decides what is cheating? I know that this is your opinion that I am basing my inquiry about, but I know that you come from a professional background in this sport and I would like to know what you base your opinion off of?

edit:
Ok, nevermind ... it was an inside joke. My bad.

Dont get your panties in a wadd the cheater bar thing is a joke between ryan and I due to the fact that i used to run db bars. Ryan had a hell of a time with dirt bars we took him out in florida and i've never laughed that hard. when i finally switched over to clipons it was the joke that I stopped cheating and finally started riding a street bike. aka cheater bars, dirbike... etc it was a smug comment to **** with me.

Ok, that was my original assumption. No "wadds" here. Just wondering.

Re: stoppie distances??!!??!!??

ahhhhh the good ole days.

I haven't rolled a stoppie on anything incl my dirt bike in over a year!

nice thread dig t-neck

Yea back in the day... even stuntwars 06, during practice in the good weather the people that were fighting for the trophy were all rolling past the starting gate pretty consistently putting us between 600 and 700'. Not bad for the crappy track.
The day of the comp, you either got a headwind or a crosswind and it was like 9 degrees out. Tires were cold, conditions were dangerous. 2 people went to the hospital if I recall correctly.

I told those f-cking retards running the comp... wtf do we do 3 stoppies for if you're only going to count 2? They said durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and their eyes crossed. So my pointless run w/ no headwind netted me 450something.... (2nd place) then I ride back to do my 1st counted run and I get the headwind from hell and they wouldn't let me wait it out. Couldn't even get to the the top of 3rd by 300'... then I slid and tank slapped... same w/ the 3rd run... so yes I'm still bitter about those retarded rules.

but yea, moral of the story is, 800' in mint conditions w/ oil on my right side rotor out of 300' approach was pretty consistent.. so suck it I ride dirt bikes
