Mission Accomplished...........749 Ft
Mission Accomplished...........749 Ft
The old record was held at 738.......... one of Thews final attempt was 731........so damn close! Then BLIOWE! 749 ft, I suppose we could even add 5 to 10 feet to that distance unofficialy for the distance he had before the start line.
I'll tell you one thing, it's a good thing he did it when he did! We had three cameras at three different locations. Start, filmed by Mike McEntire, Middle filmed by Myself and End filmed by Rod Essenburg! All three of us had low batteries and cameras were about to start blinken out! WHEW
So now all of the paper work has been signed and the rest will be taken care of shortly!
If any of you are thinking about going to the XSBA gathering, Memorial weekend! DO IT! All of the people involved in this weekend were awesome! From Clear Channel Entertainment to Mid American Motoplex to the guys at the Bike Dealership (Tom Oniels, I think) Everysingle one of these people Bent over backwards to make sure everything was perfect for this weekend!
I'll tell you one thing I have never seen a dealership do..........McEntire snaped his chain on the way back to the track, about a half hour away. The guys at the dealership brought him one out to get him going again! That's sweet!
There is so much more that was done to make this trip perfect!
WAY TO GO MATT!

Not to sure, we all have our own copies and then we also put them all on one tape, I assume to send to Guines (SP)
Thew and the Crew should be back home sometime tonight and maybe post something about it in the next couple of days. Otherwise I'll get ahold of him and see wassup.

Well I don't know what Gorkas conditions were but I'm sure that if the strip Thew was on would have been 1/4 mile like it was told to be, instead of the 1/8 it was..........it might have been done. Who Knows.........
Whatever the case, it was awesome being out there and even better watching the whole thing. I had such a great time with everyone that was there!

Great to hear he did it. I wish I could have been there on Saturday to see him get it done, but I could only be there Friday. Thanks to Thew, Wetpavement, and the other guys there for letting me hang out with them at the track all day Friday. It's great to see them bringing the sport out to this part of the country. I can't wait until the XSBA show in May!! Make sure everyone comes out for that.

Anyways Thew is the **** on stoppies...Its a blast to go out and watch people rip 700+ foot stoppies.
he still came up short on Gorkas mark though

now granted Thew and Gorka never seem to be the ones patting themselves on the back. But Gorkas was longer. His approach speed was also slower. Hell the both of them can stoppie longer than I can wheelie. Lets just put them in a pit and go at it.

Gorka's conditions were a 1/8th of a mile track as well. I think the track had just been repaved though.

Not for nothin, but.. This thread is to for props to Thew..and I maybe wrong but I didn't see Gorka out there with his teammate trying to make that mark...so why even bring it up? Thew holds the record as it stands...Regardless of condition from one track to another, or who went further when...If or when Gorka wants the title he'll try it, until then...
