Pulling a 919 up in 3rd?

can it be done?

I have no probs with lifting it clutchless in second, yet a couple of guys I ride with can't do it without the clutch. What's the trick with 3rd? softer forks for more bounce, or do I just need to be more aggressive with it?

ps: bike has full exhaust, advancer, gearing, filter and made 135hp at the tyre

stand up should be no prob. i'd use the clutch fo sho. although i used to be able to bounce up a stock GSXR600 in third.

Did you have alot of *** to pull it? Or just going extremly fast? Only way I can pull up my R1 in 3rd is to stand on the rear pegs and yank about 85 mph.

All about the bounce. Last time I was riding, I was swapping between my R1 and a friends 929. Both of them are easy to bounce up in 3rd, I got my R1 up a couple of times in 4th. The guy I was riding with (Tommy) Got his 929 up in 4th a few times also. Work on the tuiming a little.

you just need to work on your timing i think.. i know plenty of guys who can do 3rd on most 600's so a 929 should be very doable.

wet, i usually bounce my R1 up in 3rd around 75mph, 4th at about 95mph, and i haven't worked out the exact sweet spots for 5th and 6th yet, although 5th is near 115-120, and 6th i've only managed like 2 times. you should be able to bounce up fine in 3rd without needing to stand on the rearpegs.. even sitting in third i can chop the throttle hard around 8-9k and balance it out, though that is a pain.

it can deffenlty be done no prob w/ stock gearing. But, i recommend using clutch - way more predictable - dont use all ur RPM powering it up.

My man chach brings his R1 up in 3rd on the highway w/ a bounce. He can do 4th some times.

clutch it up.

i've never ridden one, but it shouldn't be a problem. Personally i bounce up all my standups, i clutch up sitdowns. I can bounce up my buddy's bone stock F4i in 3rd with no problem, so the 919 should come up easy. How do you like that bike otherwise? i was ready to buy one awhile back, but decided against it. They are badass bikes though...

i can get mine up in third w/o clutching it, but its allot easier to just clutch it a little, i can get it up in fourth clutching it too. mines all stock motor, geared down 1 up 1. just bounce more with your feet instead of your arms, it took me a while to get used to the 900 after my r1. i rode a r1 like my old one yesterday and it was oddddd..... alot more power though.
