Kawasaki 636 Sprockets
Im going to get sprockets for my 636 and I was wondering how many teeth the stock front and rear sprockets are, and then what size should I get the new ones?

depends on your skill level, IMHO you should be able to roll a nice idle wheelie on stock (or close to stock) sprockets.
if you can't do that on stock, then gearing up will only hold you back (make the throttle even more responsive)
there are two reasons for more gearing.
1. more engine brake
2. harder to stall on an idle wheelie.
if your not even using the engine brake, and you can't roll an idle wheelie, than there really isn't much of a point to gearing the bike now is there?

stock gearing for the 03-04 636 is 16 front 40 rear.
05-06 636 is 16 front 43 rear.
both are interchangeable.
a good street/stunt gearing for the 03-04 is stock front +10 rear (50 tooth) thats what i run. you could actually get away with +7 in the rear (47 tooth)

I wouldnt go any smaller than 15 on the front, most 600's come 16 tooth stock but the 636 already comes 15 I wouldnt want a 14 on there.....Too small IMO

Re: Kawasaki 636 Sprockets
the great thing about 636's is that you can rock them with NO gearing or with TONS of gearing, whatever is your preferance! and it will work great with either!
I have a stunt/show bike that i have -1+10, and i want to go a little more with it. I also have a streeter with stock gearing that I can do ALL of my tricks on, including combo HB O's and sitdown (yes foot UP) O's and all of my on the tank stuff on. you just have to rock the idle lower and work the clutch better if you have less gearing
