problems with 905 cage on f4i?

So i keep hearing about 905 cages either breaking alot or having problems rolling up on the tank. Has anyone experienced any of this on a f4i? The only reason im asking this question is cause i know its different on every bike. Some guy is selling one for $150 and i wanted to pick it up but not if its not going to stop damage from some parts of my ride

Re: problems with 905 cage on f4i?

I have had good luck with my 905 cage so far I have pancaked it pretty hard a couple times and all I have broke is a lever. The welds are garbage the first drop one of the welds cracked almost all the way around so I took the cage off and rewelded all the seams and have not had a problem since. I also wrapped some foam around the cage to protect my shins cause I kept hitting them on the cage had some nasty bruises. I think 905 is good when you are learning but then I would much rather have a FI cage.

Re: problems with 905 cage on f4i?

honestly i didnt have good luck with my 905 on the f4i, i had a couple little hits that didnt seem to bother it, but when i high sided a circle once the front part of the cage just folded right in. if i were you i would get a Runawaycustoms, or mxd cage for the f4i they seem to stand up to the beating the best. My runaway cage has had numberous hard wrecks and is still working great. also the sliders help alot to stop the bike from rollin on the tank. heres a pic of the runaway f4i cage if your interested. also if i were you, i would spend the little bit extra and go with runaway, or mxd, over 905.

THE CAGE DID ITS JOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 905 dosent hold up the best but that is a good price for 1 if it is mint....... the best cage for the f4i is the scrapeworks.com cage !!!!!!!!!!!! it goes al around the bike and it has sliders and u wont mangel your shins........ check it uot and the guys who make then are all realy good people

Re: problems with 905 cage on f4i?

I have a 905 cageon my f4i and it saved my bike i looped a like 60mph, and the cage is the only thing that saved my bike my tank is fine. the cage bent but that is a crash at 60 i dont think any cage could do much better. the only thin that happened to my bike is brole right rear set, craked tail, and 2 dented rims from sliding in to the curb.
