KC charity ride for john.....

Ok, a friend of mine, John, who wants to get into stunting and worships the sport got hit hard last week. His wife passed away early last week, how I'm not sure yet. BUT, this is what I do know!
He has almost $800 in the bank. His wife's funeral was $10,000. A place that was already going to paint his plastics and powdercoat his wheels for $600 now wants to raise the price to $1150(gouging!), this was part of the deal so he could sell his 929 in order to have money to buy an F4i to stunt out. On top of all of this, his wife was going to KU med and had a ton of financial aid bills, but they disolved upon her death. Unfortunately, they had to take out over $12,000 in loans for other expenses for her school. Those, since he was a cosigner and married to her are going to now be 100% HIS responsibility. After talking to Marc, JowalskiMO, we've decided a charity ride to try and help him out would be the best way we knew how to help him get through this financially and emotionally!

This couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Ask Dan Jackson, Johnny seals, Marc Brotemarkle(JowalskiMO), and Greg from KCsMostWanted about him. I'm sure they could tell you he may not have been the best rider just yet, but always brought a cooler full of drinks for anyone when it was hot outside, and would help any way he could. He may not have been the guy who was in your favorite stunt video, but he's the guy who would be BUYING the videos!

We'll most likely be setting up some sort of fund for those people who can't make it to KC, but would like to help. Also if the StreetFighterZ, KCsMostWanted, Dan Jackson, Johnny Seals, Controlled Insanity..... would be willing to make an appearance and support the ride, we would like to put their names on the flier. We're hoping to possibly get some t-shirt type donations to possibly auction off after the ride and have a designated area for the "experienced stunters" to show their skills after the ride.

Obviously, we probably won't be able to raise enough money to pay for everything or get him his F4i. But, I'm sure whatever we can raise would help financially and emotionally.

Re: KC charity ride for john.....

we're looking at three weeks from now to give everyone a chance to make it possible in their schedule, so get ready.....
We're gonna get ride shirts made up and clearly there will be a registration fee, ALL profits going to john.
You know how we keep it, which is street so thats what this ride is...
It would be nice if we can lock up a lot good enough for everyone to hit up, but we'll have to play that one by ear....
Hopefully we will find a venue for a show with several local guys holding it down, and definately will have an "after party" booked up somewhere most likely showing a few stunt dvds, and most definately the new trailer for our DVD, because thats what i can offer, i aint know gangsta ballin *** dan jackson holdin down two killer dvd's... lol..
You can check the midmoto site at www.team-midmoto.com for more information once i put it up there which will be as soon as we get any more info set in stone.
We will also be getting a paypal account set up for donations and will have the link there as well.
John is definately one of the nicest and most caring individuals you'll ever meet, if all you can do is send a card with your best wishes do it up, we'll get an address for those hosted as well...

we've got some pretty generous additions for a raffle to help John.......

*A set of Dunlop D218's, mounted and Balanced for free from D2Cycles.com(the best place to get your salvage yard parts for 600's and some 750's)

*A window tint job (maybe 2 depending on attendance) to tint your ride up from Eclipse Window tint.

*Also, so everyone knows Dean with D2Cycles has located a perfect candidate for an F4i stunt bike, thats short a front end...for $2200. I'm going to talk to him again tomorrow or monday(business hours???) and see if he was going to get it anyways. If we raise enough money we'll get John up in front of everyone and offer him the total amount of money.....or the remainder of the money minus the F4i. After telling Dean about everyone's love affair with swapping 929 front ends on, he informed me he'll throw in a large majority of the parts needed for the 929 front end for free (triples and forks). Since John isn't going to be able to afford to buy another bike, but loves the stunt scene, this could really raise his spirits!(a lil help from some of those spiffy instructional videos could possibly help his skills along too )

We've contacted stunt and race companies alike and I plan to talk to any and all local bike shops for help to get this rolling.

I've been getting tons of good feedback about how to have the ride and stunt show.....and the local racers are 100% for riding with us and watching the stunt show.....no discrimination BS here in KC:YEAH

Of course, we are accepting anything given to us for the raffle, and you can take my word 100% of everything is going to the raffle and for the benefit of John. Raffle tickets are already being provided and I'm sure we can round up somin to draw from.....might even allow John to do it himself and give the prizes away.

A ride patrol of camera cars up front and in the middle, along with "pig stoppers" in the back to keep them outta the mix are in the works.
If anyone is a master editor and would donate time to making John his one-off personal copy of the ride for his use that would be perfect!

With any luck we're going to try and have a catered stunt show, whther we can get the support from Chili's I'm hoping for, or if we have to hit the grocery store for hot dogs and buns and get a couple truck loads of grills going. We're going to try and do this right.

As for an after party....we got some hookups on bars and might be able to get one to close the bar down for us if enough people are promised to be there. Any cover charge going straight to John of course($5 tops). I'll look around and try to get a bar with either large projections screens or projectors and we'll play ANY and ALL stunt dvd's or previews after the midmoto teaser and anything Josh and Andy from Controlled Insanity wanna toss in.
