pass peg breaking in mid wheelie

Re: pass peg breaking in mid wheelie
I haven't had one break yet, but I did get lucky and have both bolts that hold the bracket for the peg almost back out. Maybe about 5 or 6 threads from the end of the bolt on both of them. I'm 215 lbs. so that probably doesn't help.

I've slipped off of mine a couple times becuase of wet shoes riding in inclement weather, luckily no mishaps yet, I just pulled myself into the seat. Sure does make you more cautious.

when i drop my ****, I check for cracks in the backs of the brackets.
as far as slipping off, you know the little square nubbins in the footpegs? ive sharpened those things with a cutting disc and you feet will never slide off. same with the brake

I think about that every time im rockin down the eway on 1 wheel, you can only imagine what the outcome could be, wouldnt be good.......good question though, Ive thought about if this has happened to people.....need to reinforce that **** or make a new one out of steel or something

Rearsets that break are common... I have seen a few break in my stunting days. Some not bad and some not pretty. Everyone should periodically check their whole bike for cracks, loose bolts, etc. It will help prevent a lot of accidents....

I've had one of my bolts back all the way out. The peg dropped 4-5" and was rocking all over in the middle of a 70mph expressway wheelie. Scared the sh*t outta me. Loctite from now on.

Re: pass peg breaking in mid wheelie
I had the right (brake side) rearset brake on my F4 mid wheelie. Its was raining outside, I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt, just got down cutting down my exhaust, pulled up a 30mph wheelie in my neighbor hood and about 30 seconds into the wheelie it snapped.
I ended up doing an apehanger of sorts at 30 mph with a mini-van behind me. Pulled it out ok, but my knee was seriously brused from the 905! Not to mention my nuts hurt, but I'd take that over rash any day.
