Re: Competition at the Daytona International Speedway who would attend?

I think it sounds like a great idea. I definately would make the trip to daytona to watch, unless there is a 50 event.

Just a quick question. How will this work with all of the other existing shows??? I know last year when I was over for biketoberfest Kyle Woods, Joe Vertical, Geared up and many others were putting on a free show at the dog track.

At the exact same time another vendor was putting out an event a few miles away and charging 15 per head for entrance fees. From what I heard there wasn't that many riders and it didnt look like there was too many people there. (I didn't personally go into the show as my riding buddy hadn't hit the atm yet and had no cash on him.)

If you are to make a successful go at this, you would need to make sure that there werent multiple venues attempting to take their slice of the pie at the same time.

Re: Competition at the Daytona International Speedway who would attend?

Good luck! Oh yeah... and a little late. We already did that! So sad you missed it.

1st - there is no camping at Daytona Int'l Speedway.
2nd - there is no time during the Biketoberfest racing schedule.
3rd - the Speedway will not open their facility to just do a stunt comp.
4th - the years that we did it, the speedway hated it.
5th - the only place where you can do it, is on pit road, which is bumpy... and not conducive for endos.

Not to mention that the gate fee to get in is far too expensive, and nobody ever wanted to pay it. The groups who have gone in the past have always torn up the speedway and not respected the security or operations staff... which has continuously pissed off the speedway... imagine that!

Questions - talk to Thomas, Teach, Tony-D, Uncle Hucklebuck, Gorka, Thew, Chauncey, D-Mann, Colbert, Joe Brown, or anyone else that was there.

Sorry... won't work at the speedway.

thanks for the constructive criticism, there are
+no races scheduled for biketoberfest just bike week
+camping in the daytona infield is open to the public for biketoberfest (done it the last three years in a row) there is only a swap meet scheduled
+as for the track surface the surface was redone in april or last year but will be tested if not good we will move it to the back super stretch.
+ last but not least the vendor throwing the event has already checked into the track and the funds needed to rent the track for one of those days admission costs are looking about 15.00 a head very reasonable. not to mention riders get in free if there on the list.

thanks for the constructive criticism all good things to think about

it doesn't have to be biketoberfest but it shouldn't be too close to any other big shows the man sponsor actually is a racer hes in the process. any other suggested dates that wouldn't clash????

ok, well i personally heard "the backer" say, "i'm gonna rent out daytona international speedway and hold a stunt competition." this is no lie. however, it is just an idea as of now.
