First few shows is alright to do for free in exchange for free practice time all year. But after that dont do **** for free.. If someone comes in and undercuts you, cut their fu(king legs off and show them what undercuttin means..

I know you guys are fairly new at this and have done only a couple of little events.

First and foremost...what size is this event? What kinda numbers are coming through the gate? Does the wicked footage with a big crowd(instead of 4 people standing around) worth more than $$$ ?? Do you have commitments to your sponsors(# of gaurenteed shows)?.

I know we have commitment issues with getting in # of secured shows for our sponsors. So it all equals out in the end with sponsor money.
But always get your expenses covered atleast


If it's a local show ... You can always play the " added attendance draw" explain how many paying customers you'll bring in that normally wouldn't attend.

Best advice while trying to build your brand.....Is get all your expenses covered.
You can explain to him last year you lost money trying to help promote his event.....this year you're asking for his help covering your costs....tires....gas...food....lodging...etc.

definitely not enough for you to pay bills.
very few make a living doing this.
so whynot just do it cuz you wanna show people what the new riding scene is all about and that you have love for the sport?
it'll get your name out there and get you famous too.

 

like insain said we need to get our expences cause last year at this event one of the engines in a teammates bike thew a rod and it cost us about 300 to get that fixed, plus tavel, gas, food, plus plus plus. anyway meeting setup for next tues. they are bringing they're lawyer so I think were going to write up a contract.

Hopefully a multi year contract. fingers xxxxed

Yo kane, you could possibly do the show for free just for the exposure, i mean no one is a stone rock star yet in this sport, i mean the more its seen by the common person the better until we get to x-games status. I would explain to them that for free it will be basic stunt riding, why not mention for a nominal fee that you will blow there minds and let it hang out but need some money for wear and tear and possible risk of damage to the bikes.

i was thinking the same thing....kinda like making them fill out a price quote....if we blow up 3 tires and do 80 circles then we get 2 grand, if we only blow up 1 tire and 10 circles then we will do it for free LOL
